Morning peeps! One day closer to the meet up!!!

Question for everyone. What are your thoughts/opinion on running retros for the headlights instead of stock or Pro headlights?

Anyone have some on their rigs??

 

I don't have them yet but I'm definitely considering a nice retros nice bright light output not to mention the fact that they look wicked badass

 

True. They are $$$$$ from what I've seen/read, especially if you want a quality set.

 

Ya ya ya there definitely a a nice chunk of change I saw a fella on here that makes custom retros and I think they were like 600 for 2nd gen and like 500 for 1st gen. I just don't know enough about to even figure out what I like yet, I know I like the halos and I know I DONT like those demon eyes and I have no idea about all the different shrouds or the bulbs themselves and also what's better the 35w ballasts or the 55w one's so many ??s so little time

 

Indeed. A lot of reading to do, and checking out all the different styles to narrow it down.

 

Bout to run out at lunch and getting my truck washed like @surfandturf recommended. Getting it "prepped" for the meet!!

 

he'll ya man 1 and a half more days. I'm going to do mine tomorrow before work, I always get a bit nervous hitting the under carriage/frame especially by the trans/motor area I feel like I'm gonna hit a electrical connection and break it or something with all the high pressure water; (

 

I hear ya. I'm just going to go to a car wash that hits up the undercarriage. Hopefully that will do the job!

 

I wish I could go to the car wash but my Softopper cant take it lol.

 

I keep trying to see if I spot you on my way home everyday from work, but no dice. I think that one day I saw you was a lucky shot.

 

I had Morimoto H1's on my old 96 Cummins that I installed myself. Great light output but the cutoff was very, very sharp - pitch black above the line. The downside with that is when you are going down a dip in the road the cutoff line gets closer to the truck and you then can't "see" up the hill. The cutoff was so sharp that stop signs would be dark and forget about reading street signs. I find the Tacoma's lighting to be great compared to most other stock vehicles, especially with the fogs.

 

Yeah I've been leaving at wacky times lately. I have seen a couple of different Tacos on my way home though lol.

 

I see a blue one, with a NY plate, just about everyday. Looks nice and clean. And a few others as well but that one sticks out the most.

 

What really the soft topper can't take a car wash??? Oh dam that kinda sucks oh well there still wicked awesome hahaha

Dude, @jc11taco89, those retros you tagged me on are SICK.

I think I'm fucking hooked now. Gotta do some reading and question asking to make sure they will work and I'm not just "wasting" money. Worried about the wiring thing since those lights are a lot stronger, so I want to make sure I have/get what I need to make it work.

 

Yeah it cant take a beating lol. But it can hold a good amount of snow fall overnight.

 

ok well that's good at least. Do you leave it up all the time or do you fold it down sometimes. That's one of the biggest reasons I want one for ease of folding it down and in no time at all it can be back up again.

 

I leave it up and roll up the sides also talking off the front and back windows. It takes 2-3 minutes to put up and down.

 

Got my truck washed for Saturday! I'm ready to roll fellas!!!!!!! Can it be Saturday already??!!
