No worries! This happened at my last job 10 years ago too.
I'm just going to keep doing what I do.
If this keeps up I will leave like I did at the last job.
Mind you the last jobs department failed and 6 months after I left was no more...oops
I'm not saying that this will happen again but if it did I would laugh my ass off again

 

Thanks Tom. Appreciate it. Definitely still going to keep looking, and hoping something comes up. Until then it's just a matter of sucking it up and trying my best. My conscience is clear about that; that I'm trying my best and not slacking off.

 

Well said, I do well above expectations by pieces per hour in my unit. Sadly I think it hurts me, someone suggested recently I've made myself too valuable to lose by promoting me. Between that and the blatant nepotism, grrrrr..

I started getting payback. Told a couple of people this week when they asked for my help that I will help them this time (as I have for some time) but going forward they need to approach the Business Expert..a position that exists elsewhere in the company and was recently created in my unit, and handed to a favorite. So I reckon let him do it, that's his job and I was declared to be unfit to have it

My wife said to me "how have they not had it all along?" At risk of patting my own back, I replied myself and a couple of other folks who have been doing the work without the title and pay raise.

My unit is about 100 people and we have that one person. Other areas it's 20 to 1..partially b/c that's phones so they need more people ready to jump, but still....

I think it's going to backfire..I hope I am correct. By that I mean they are trying to not have several Experts, but I know myself and 2 other people like me have been talking and we all are not going to be the yes-man anymore.

 

While not the shortest distance to a promotion, I applied recently for another unit in my company. I didn't get an interview because they had a few people with experience; however, the manager asked if I'd like to job-shadow. Needless to say I was all for it. I go there Thursday for 2 hours.

 

Just rain in Danbury today! Then leaving work I noticed the ground was a little slick... Drove home, no problems.
Parked, got out of truck & went straight down on my arse!
Managed to park on the one slick area of my driveway. Life on a windy hill!
Grabbed the seat belt on the way down, but only got one part of it - it came along for the ride.
No harm, no foul. Cursed myself, laughed at myself, checked the mail.

Good morning all. Everything froze up here from last night's rain. Drive safe.

 

Two hour school delay down here... That must be why. Because it doesn't look like there is much snow on the ground.

 

Hey, does anyones touch screen freak out in the mornings and change stations by itself? Maybe its the cold but yesterday it set a preset station for me all by itself.

 

Woke up this am ready to plow. Low oil pressure light came on in the 2500 when I started it. Snow blower won’t start. Happy Wednesday.

 

Nope... Can't say that I've seen mine do that.

This seems to be a problem also with the GPS....not sure if anyone has come up with a solution yet.

School ended up getting closed.

 

First mod I did to my car when I moved to VT was have a block heater installed. Seems a best practice for a plowing truck. Hope it's just the cold.

 

I'm still touch screen-less in my vehicles. I want big buttons I can push with my gloves on. Swapping an original radio back into the Tundra for that reason & so both trucks have the same set-up.

Oh - Prius, has a touch screen..... but just for info. Hmmmm?

 

Haha, all good. Shoveled out. This truck has been nothing but a headache since getting it in June.

My brother seems to think it’s the sender or the gauge; common issue in these trucks. Still don’t feel comfortable running it until it’s fixed so I’ll have to figure something out.
