Hi guys, Its been a while since I have posted anything on here. I took my 2010 DCSB to my normal local shop so they can check it out since it just hit 100k miles. The mechanic told me that I need to get a new right rear shock. I asked him about the rest of the suspension and he said that the rest is just showing its age but is fine for now. So this is a great opportunity to get some decent upgrades and a lift since the parts need to be replaced anyways. I am not trying to get a substantial lift. Leveling the front end with 2" overall would be great.

I had the rear leafs swapped out under the factory recall not to long ago so I know those are fine. I plan on getting 5100s to replace all of the oem shocks and probably bilstein coils since they are also aged. Depending on time and funds I might do it in 2 stages starting with the rear shocks since I need those now.

Is there anything else on the rear suspension that should get replaced while the truck is up on the lift like bushings? Also, will the truck sit oddly pitched if I only install the rear 5100s even on the lowest setting?

Is there a link that anyone has showing small parts like bushings and such that should be swapped after 100k for the whole truck?

The shop will install the rear shocks for just labor charge which isnt terrible, but I dont think I want them to do the front end. I live in the bristol area, does anyone have a favorite shop to get work done at. I will not have the time or space to install the parts myself.

Did some visual upgrades on Saturday. Not warm enough to derp, but these have been hanging around since Christmas, so I figured it was time.

 

Anyone planning on going to Lime Rock Park Race Track on April 6 for Opening Day? Free Admission and free parking. Charity club races, parade to help the Michael J Fox Foundation. Great event for a wonderful cause. It will be nice to see you there.

 

Lime Rock rules, used to be a volunteer there for race weekends...would love to make it (esp given the charity being supported) but that's my wedding day

Monday again.

But on a positive note, finally have a functioning cb.

I tried doing a nice hidden install, by putting it in the center console. Unfortunately the radio I was using was gifted to me, and was fried.

I was wheeling with @Skierrichy and an FJ from the OB forum a couple weeks back, and Alex in the fj had a cb that he wasn’t using.

I’d like to still grab another radio and finish the install in the center console, especially after all the effort, but I’m happy to have a functioning (and free) radio for the trails for now. Got the antanne all tuned and ready to go!
