    Happy belated birthday @mhoadley .

Couple hours at work Monday ended up being longer day than normal shift. Good I went in, I was needed.
Stopped in at night job to do a quick audit, ended up staying 15 minutes longer than a normal shift. Good I went in, I was needed.

To hell with them today - rest of the week is mine!
Went to the local welding shop finally this am. He'd be happy to weld/blow holes/take my money trying to fix the tundra, but suggests I first see if my mechanic can source a used axle housing. Guess I'll be getting out the wire wheel & JB Weld. LOL.

    Happy Tuesday all.

So on the way in to work this morning, my friend whose grass I cut called me...

Was telling me that his septic had been smelling up a bit, and that water looked like it was coming from the top of the tank, where the lid is. Said he called the septic people about a warranty since he had actually gotten some work done and something replaced about 5 years ago, some pump, and that the warranty was only for a year and that they no longer worked with that guy but recommended someone else. So he called them, and they told him how much it would be to replace that pump if it crapped out. Before he made an appointment for them to come out, he remembered something and went out to check it first before making an appointment.

Well... on the side of his yard there is this electrical type box that comes out of the ground, with a plug plugged into it. I see it and not quite sure what it is, so I try to obviously be careful when I go near it with the mower and the weedwacker. Turns out that it was unplugged. Somehow I must have ended up touching it with either the corner of the deck or the string from the weedwacker. I honestly don't remember touching it, and when I noticed it was already unplugged, but somehow I must have done it.

He plugged it back in and it's working now and pumping out the tank to the leeching fields. He needs the pump because of the way his backyard is, and the fields are up on a little hill, so he needs the pump so that it pumps the water up the little hill and into the fields.

Needless to say my heart dropped and I felt like absolute SHIT when he told me what happened, and why it had happened. Septic issues aren't cheap, and if I fucked his up not only would I obviously pay for it, but I would feel even worse for having fucked it up. He kept telling me that it was all good, that he didn't even think to tell me about the box in the first place to be careful with it, and that it looks like there is no problem and the pump is working and doing what it's supposed to, and draining out to the fields. Said if he knew I would react like this, he never would have said something. I still feel like shit, kept apologizing, and sent him a text apologizing again as soon as I got to work. He said it's all good, but still...

FML. Try to be careful, try to do a good thing (even though he is paying me, I still offered to cut it for him since he said he didn't want to pay someone else that he didn't know and would rather pay a friend), and still manage to somehow fuck shit up. I guess no good deed goes unpunished, sort of... FUCK. I really hoping nothing bad happened and came of it. Not because of having to pay, but because of possibly ruining a friendship.

    :annoyed: :frusty:

Don't sweat it man! That was an easy fix! That's the business I'm in. We manufacture water and waste water pumps worldwide. I use to install/service that stuff back in the day, you didn't fuck anything up, just removed power for a bit lol Once it pumps the tank back down it will operate like normal.

    The only issue is ,
I should have done the mod BEFORE the Fluid Film was applied

Thank God there is Lava soap.
Just need a widget to make the final attachment on the frame.
If you take your time it will take you less than 10 minutes.

Chances are it took awhile to fill the tank enough for him notice an issue. Could have been Bambi kicked it out, could have been kids running about, could have been squirrels running/wrestling, could have been you. Don't worry about it, or put up some edging & drop some green gravel around it. No harm, no foul, poor design, lesson learned, beautiful day today!

    Good Noon everyone!

    Honestly Nuno,

Don't worry about it. The neighbor should actually take some precautions to prevent that, such as a protective fully enclosed lid over the outlet and plug.
