I mounted mine backwards compared to yours.
That way i gained another inch of length in the usable length of the bed.
But the brackets work on either side.

Yeah, I placed it both ways to see which way I liked better before actually bolting it down. All of the pics and how to vids I saw had them the way I ended up putting them on, so I said fuck it, I'll put them that way as well. LOL

just a guess - but those composite beds, for guys that add caps & weight high - could be an issue with bed walls spreading. I suspect it's over kill for most, but cheap insurance in case you aren't thinking & have a load of mulch, etc dumped into the bed.
