Sounds a lot like my winters

 

Morning everyone. Happy hump day.

 

The shit show at work is about to begin again, starting tomorrow.

Another round of days off to use up or lose them by my co-worker.

Starting tomorrow, he's off until after Thanksgiving. Then, he'll be off again 12/16-12/18.

I still have 4 and a half vacation days to use up between all of his days off, and then I'll be off starting 12/23 until after the new year.

Don't forget to ask him a few questions today before he leaves!!!

 

Our supervisor set up a "touch base" for 1pm today so we can go over anything "funky" that is going on and I might need to know about.

Hoping that it'll be nice and "quiet", even though I know it won't be...

 

We are rooting for ya! I think that sounds like a big step in the right direction. And if you make things known now you are unsure about, your supervisor should have it on their radar to help while the co-worker is gone.

Last time my co-worker was off, I started copying our supervisor on stuff that I don't really know too much and about and don't feel completely comfortable with, and would sort of give an answer but would "defer" to her to confirm/advise.

We'll see what's going on that I need to know about...

Just gotta hope for the best, and remember to keep my cool and not get stressed out over it. That should help me get by these two weeks.

 

Wouldn’t be work if it wasn’t stressful or hard. At least that’s what I keep telling myself with my job. Good luck Nuno, hope this time isn’t as bad as the last time.

Someone left my team in July and no one else volunteered to pick up the slack except me, so I’ve been doing the job of two people since 7/1. They finally hired the replacement who’s currently getting trained. I try not to stress about it; take it one day at a time and just grind through it. Sometimes easier said than done.

Reading of works here, I'll toss out a positive works story.

Yesterday I was messaged to come up stairs -now- when I first got to work.
I went to the gatekeepers office. (eh..??)
The CEO wants to see you, let me make sure they're free now. (uh - oh ?)

Mind I'm only a part timer at this job.
CEO wanted to touch base with me. Been an incredibly stressful year there + some of my own stresses. Wanted to make sure I was doing okay, do I need anything, etc.. (I'm actually doing pretty well.) Once they believed me, I got a friendly chastising for not taking enough vacation time this year - LOL. (guilty)

It really is a pretty special place. They're out there.
