Busy day today...

Soccer from 8-9. Then have to go to work because it's time to do inventory this week - shift today from 11-2. Then taking the oldest to a birthday party from 3-4:30.

Then finally time to relax... Hopefully.

You (and a lot of you other guys) have SO MUCH SHIT to do constantly, especially with the kids. I would go crazy. And then on top of that you do more shit like this soccer!! I guess that is your way to have fun and relieve stress, but the time it takes would just stress me out even more!

I like my free time and not being on other peoples schedules constantly. I quite literally cannot imagine living like that. And don't get me wrong, that's not a knock on you guys who are always busy. It just makes me feel so lazy and childish because I don't have 60 hours of preplanned activities/work every week.

Good motivation for me to work towards I suppose. And good luck to all you guys out there busting it 24/7. I'm weaker than you, and envy your energy and patience/dedication to the families.


edit: We hope to have kids and that will fill up a lot of my time, but that will make it less likely I join some extra club!

LOL!!!

Gotta keep busy man. When I'm home, and have nothing to do, I get antsy and get a little stir crazy. I like having stuff to do. Makes me feel productive, active, and makes me feel like I have a purpose.

Does your last sentence mean that you and the Mrs have started talking/planning?!

 

We've been trying for a bit and had some issues. Things are looking good right now, but want to wait a few more weeks before we get too too excited about things

don't really like this. too busy too early. no dirt roads involved.

 

I think it's the result of a generation that had every minute scheduled as kids - school, after school sports/clubs, weekend sports, play dates. There was (is?) a fear if they don't do everything they won't get into college & their life will be ruined. It also was a solution to both parents working, keep the kids busy until I get out of work so I don't have to pay day care.

@Cativelense said it - if not busy they get antsy as that's how they were raised, busy/busy/busy, rush/rush/rush.
My generation got home from school, Mom said go outside until I call you for dinner. Sports after school really didn't start until high school. By then we had learned to entertain ourselves be it playing with a box, or taking stuff apart. My brother used to dig holes - upper dam, lower damn, river between them. Made a mess of the yard, but figured he'd grow into an engineer. Didn't, but mud is always fun! And now as adults everyone is drinking coffee, so... go, go, go.

 

Evening everyone! Been a busy day today! Installed my new head unit. It went much quicker than I expected. SO much better than the JBL.

had to take a queen mattress to Mom today. Tacoma step side too small. Tundra fleet side barely fits it, but the truck bed is all wet from the weather. Brilliant me - put it inside the RV! RV needed exercise anyway.

<rant on> Anyone here who's never driven a large vehicle, say 6 or more tires on the road large...
Big vehicles accumulate speed - eventually. They slow down - slowly. They lose speed going up hills. They gain speed going down hills as a running start to the next up-hill. They do this trying to not be going 45mph by the top of the hill.
People in 200, 300, 400hp cars should not pull in front of large vehicles without taking note of terrain & large vehicles speed. Tailgating a large vehicle that is going too slowly only puts the car in a blind spot - use the 300hp to pass & be gone! If a lane is ending 1,2,3 miles up the road & traffic is heavy - large vehicles are going to merge when they see an opportunity - get over it. Use the hp to pass it.

Large vehicles don't zip & dash. use your gas pedal & hp in the 4 tire vehicle & give a wide berth.

People in cars/light trucks/suv's can be so... If I'm passing your 300hp vehicle - in a house -, on your right, or in the left lane just maybe you're not in the correct lane?
If you merge left, pulling in front of me & don't increase your speed & suddenly I'm on your bumper with my lights in your back window - maybe you didn't correctly execute the pass you are sort of completing? <rant off>

So Mom & Dad seem happy to have a new mattress. Had to bring them fat sheets to go with the fat mattress. I hadn't realized it, but my guestroom wall color is the same family as my parents bedroom. The sheets matched their room perfectly. and now RV gas tank is full for winter.
