Think they will spray a replaced frame? Is there a TSB out there to read on this?

 

Just fluid film it.

I havent to date but Ill be starting that this year after seeing everyones results. I have a little clean up to do on my frame before I do it however. Nothing bad but cleaning up any surface rust first will give me peace of mind. I plan on tackling that the week I took off to the lift. And hopefully a regiment of fluid film twice a year (before winter, and spring).

 

Tests are done on all 4 of us. Now we wait.

Said this one was better/easier than the way it was done before. Doesn't need to go as far up your nose. But they swirl it around in each nostril for 15 seconds on each side. Tickled like a mofo. Kids both cried hysterically, obviously.

 

If you pass they spray. What year, I forget..you then get a second inspection before 12 years from date the truck was first put on the road as a result.

OK.... about my earlier lift post

I am looking to place an order for my lift parts for my 2015 4x4 DCSB Tacoma.

Looking at this

Bilstein 6112's in the front, 5160's in the rear, 3 leaf AAL and a set of JBA uca's

Looking for 2 - 2.5 inches from what I have... choices for front shock settings are listed below.

Should I do the front coil settings as #4 or number #5... Is there any reason I should not go top setting on the front shocks??

Just starting to order parts to move things along... maybe 3 weeks to a month before the stuff would be available at this point.

Thoughts? Advice?? Words of encouragement?

FRONT LIFT CHART

 

I was reading the CRC application thing and it says when they clean and dry the frame, if there is a hole found, they replace the frame.

Hopefully the tech doesn't over look this. I for one will be inspecting my frame (on a lift) when I get it back from Toyota.

I have 6112s at the top setting with Total Chaos UCAs for 3 years . No problems. You will feel larger road bumps a bit more up front ( pot holes ) and speed bumps . Other than that I like it! Also have medium duty Dakar’s with an AAL in the rear with 5125 Bilsteins for 2-3” lift . Don’t forget extended brake lines . I might purchase some Timbren bump stops up front ,it might help with road bumps I have the Timbren SES bump stops in the rear and they are great for towing .

 

Good luck , hopefully at worst all you will have to do is self quarantine for 2 weeks .

 

have them on my first gen. go one knotch higher than you want because they do settle and lose height after first couple hundred miles

Truth. If they find a hole, they fail it and get a replacement. If it doesn't have the hole they apply the CRC
