Was outside for a good couple of hours cleaning up my leaves, so I could cut the grass.

Used both my backpack and push blower. And right after I was done cutting the grass, a wind gust came by and knocked down a shitload of leaves. FML

 

Here’s a simple tip to change your life.


Double cut every week of October until there isn’t a leaf on a tree anywhere near your yard.


Never rake again. and the second time
Over makes the lines really pop and goes fast.

 

Never even thought about that... Interesting take. Might have to give it a try next weekend then.

 

I don’t rake, it’s for suckers. Since I was 12 I told my dad to get out of the way I’ll just mow it until you can’t see it anymore.

he used to make us hand rake and tarp 4 acres woth a lot of trees. Was 3-4 times each fall to get them all. Never again!!!!!

 

Heck no! That's a lot of raking and tarping.

Same here, I mow with the tractor every 2 weeks in leaf season on Saturday AM. I'd do every week if the recycle center was open..just dump into the bed and then every few times I idle up the street 3 houses, dump and go.

That said it rained like hell last Saturday and today it was closed so I had to bag. Suuuuuucks

Might be a bit too cold for me out there today.
Still have a lot to do on the truck. I'm going to do laundry and make a list of mods/repairs that need to be done.
It seems like I can't get anything done as each mod/repair is in different stages of completion.
I need to finish one before starting on the next.

Morning nutmeggers and neighbors

 

Morning all.
1. cut down trees.
2. just mulch neighbors leaves into the lawn each week or two.
Just no way I'm going to buy bags to fill with neighbors leaves, to put out at curb to be ignored by the city pickup until the grass under them has died.
2 words - mulching blade.

 

Here ya go, not perfect but when I mow next week and there aren’t any leaves yet it will be. Also mulching them fertilizes and adds to your dirt base, you’re stealing from your lawn if you take them.

also we have an irrigation system instal going on so please ignore any dirt or lines in the grass. It’s getting a spa treatment next week, tamping, compost and fertilizer/seed in select areas.

By the color of your machine, it's a Scag, right? Ride on or walk behind? What size deck?

 

I have a v-ride, a 61" with whatever the biggest engine they made at the time, its their original, not the newer updated one. Only complaint is on steep sections it isn't that great unless its all the way dry. Otherwise kicks through everything no problem.

I enjoy the standing position because I can see all trash or other things that got left from a wild wedding. Sitting you are screwed and its a PIA to get up and off every time. I have also owned walk behind scags that are great but I had a 42" inch and it took me 4-5 hours to mow this place every week. Now I can mow, weed eat and blow it all in about 3, 2.5 if no double cutting.

The thing is like 5 years old and I only went over 200 hours this year lol, fresh blades every 8 hours and I service it yearly. The thing is a babbbbby and should last me forever...or until battery powered ones exist and I trade it in.

That looks way too much like work.
Sad thing is, I can spend 2 hours mowing my .27 acre with my little hand mower.
Wrong tools just steal time & time is the one thing we cannot replace. :-(

 

Yeah I’m doing 3-4 acres in that time, I’m looking to do my work as quickly and efficiently as I can usually, but that also comes with a price tag.
