    Alright my CT guys,

My girlfriend just got hit at a stop light. Dude behind her didn't see her slowing for a red light and hit the back of her car. They exchanged insurance info and he drove off, from what she told me her car needs the rear bumper snapped back into place and a dent popped out.

Are we required to call the police? Does she just go through his insurance to fix the car if it needs fixing?

All my experience is hitting things other than cars and fixing it myself. Trees, curbs, guard rails, etc...

I'm also actually from NY so I don't know if we're required

She should have called the police. The other driver can deny he hit her.

I’d have her call the police, report the accident and get a formal report.

    This x10.
She may be SOL at this point.
Always, always call the Po-Po, and don't move the vehicle until instructed to do so by the cop.

Thanks guys. It seems we lucked out this time, I believe he already admitted fault to insurance and they are talking to her now.

I got rear ended on 95 in Bilgeport years ago.
Didn't move, no matter how pissed off the people stuck in traffic were, until the State Cop arrived.

I urge all of you to get dashcams. Super easy to install. Have them in all our vehicles. Ours record forward and rear.

Dash cam is set and forget. Wired all ours into hot when on circuits and leave them. Two are wired into overhead console and my truck is under the headliner edge, inside the pillar trim, into the fuse box to the radio circuit. No visible wiring anywhere.

Good morning gents. Batten down the hatches; big storm on the way. Ominous robocall from Eversource.

I don't like to knock the folks at NOAA. Despite all the satellites & high-tech equipment the macro climate changes make their job difficult. But why continue to give a 7-day forecast when you can't accurately predict 24 hours out? Earlier their website displayed this AM's forecasted low of 33°. Several inches above was the then current temp of 28°.
