Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

Yep, started working on an old 60's starcraft aluminum 10' boat with a 6hp johnson outboard just as old i was given over the weekend. Its in really rough shape. Yesterday was so humid, now today the heat with it.

 

Anyone got a spare fortune they're not using? Need to buy something. Don't ask questions.

Its not blocked. I used a contractor garbage bag to keep last nights downpour away from the area and parked the rear wheels on blocks so it shed water towards the front. Pulled everything off this morning and put a fan inside to dry any remaining moisture out. Also looked behind the exterior weather stripping where it meets the roof drip molding. Theres a piece of foam in there; carefully moved it to the side and I can see a small pinhole in the window seal. Must have been doing this for a while. Pretty tight area so I couldn’t get a picture. But I cleaned it out with paper towel and alcohol pads, letting that area dry out and then Ill be hitting it with some permatex window and glass sealant, which I grabbed at napa yesterday.

Hope this fixes it. Called a glass place nearby and they said it would be tough to impossible to pull my current window out and reuse it, and that a new one was really expensive. He laughed at my “ahh fuck me” response.

 

Question for you my fellow Nutmegger's.

The Mrs is looking to buy a "big" dining room table now that the remodel work is mostly complete upstairs.

It doesn't have to be "fancy", but she'd like it to be "nice", it's be used as the main table for lunch, dinner, etc, and she'd like it to be big enough to seat at least 8 and possibly expand to seat more.

Does anyone know of any furniture shops here in CT that they could recommend for something like that, aside from your "usual" mainstream ones?

 

We've bought a bunch of stuff from Raymour & Flanigan over the last year and like it. Decent balance of price/quality.

Klotter Farms in Ellington Ct. that's been mentioned in a post above I bought my shed there I've seen the showroom for furniture it's nice it's worth the trip and I remember like they delivered my shed they'll deliver the furniture.

I've bought all sorts of furniture in the past from a more local shop called southworths wayside furniture. Nothing really fancy. Their on the winsted road in torrington.

 

I was asked to put a Lexus trailer hitch on a 2022 RX350. With those cars you have to disable/remove the "kick" sensor.
I get the hitch mounted, put the bumper on and them they tell me the customer doesn't want the kick sensor removed. I proceed to remove the rear bumper and the hitch.
I then put the rear bumper on and then they tell me now the customer is OK with removing the kick sensor and I then pull the bumper off again and install the hitch.

Got paid double normal time.

(The kick sensor is what makes the hatch open when you stick your foot under the rear bumper)
