Hope everybody is having a good Saturday. Changed the oil in the taco; pretty happy about that. Started to do the cb install; following this guy to the t with the exception of my antanne being on passenger side.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hidden-cb-install-pics.223025/

I took some earlier suggestions regarding grounding issues due to paint on the antanne mount. I scraped a bit of paint where the bolts and fire-ring/antanne contact the mount. Thanks for the pointers for those who provided them.

I originally ordered a 9 foot cable, without realizing the firewall opening is on the drivers side. This 9 footer won’t work so I’ll be ordering a longer one tonight. Got the mount installed at least. I’ll give this another shot next weekend.

Thinking back, the big difference was me looking into the swing outs, not just the bumper. You may be right. Hope it all works out!

Giving credit where credit is due - State of CT.

When I first registered a vehicle in CT, Titles were 6+ months time in coming. Really sucked for auto dealers taking in trades or folks picking vehicles up at auction to flip.

1/2 a decade later or so, I registered the new (to me) truck on January 4th. Title in my letter box on January 12th. 8 days v. 180+ days.
    Well done CT.
...and it only took me 1 hour in DMV to do the registration/get plates, down from 3hours+ 1 year ago.

You should still be able to do all that from a computer!
    But DMV has gotten better:thumbsup:

I've been outside all day, first was figuring this outKIMG0956.jpg
Mind you this isn't permanent yet, clamped down. More modifying to do.
Then I cut fallen oak trees up in the back and moved about 3/4 cord of wood.
I was hot and enjoyed having a nice day outside.

What are those lights? They channel some G-Vagen, some early FJ vibes. Like 'em.

It's just the flash off the reflectors.

No - the lights sitting on the hitch frame. Most add a lights I see are round. In the picture the new tail lights are long rectangular. I'd guess a "borrowed application".

They are cheap water resistant LEDs I think I paid 17.00 on Amazon.
I may switch down the road but it'll work for now.
I'm trying to protect them and trailer using the hidden hitch as a bumper.

You cut off the ends, rotated the center & welded the ends back on the hidden hitch?

Remote start successfully installed... If anyone has a 3rd gen and is on the fence about the N2 Designs remote start, do it. Don't hesitate.

Greetings from southeast CT! Anybody else have an exhaust heat shield that rattles so much you want to high center it just to shut it up?

I was up in Torrington this afternoon and saw a handful of good looking 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas. Was it any of you guys/girls?
