Thanks, and Thanks! It felt like forever to me too. Happy to be back.

 

My votes for regular Carhartt pants or arbor wear, been working construction in them for 20 years! The cargo versions and dickies I have always found are made thin anything canvas duck should work out better for you.

 

I was thinking of trying the regular cloth ones as well but I'm a little wary at this point. Those Patagonia pants look pretty good too, gonna have to do some homework tonight. Thanks guys!

 

What I was up to this past month:

My front end marker bulbs had gone out. So I changed those. One went fine without a hitch. While doing the second one (passenger side), the bulb fell off into the headlight housing. So I had to remove the entire housing from the truck, and shake the bulb out. Eventually got it in just fine after reinstalling the housing.

Work got more productive since I could only lurk here, and that got boring quick. Lots of snow this past month, and naturally we found ourselves outside in the yard with the little one, pulling him around in the sled. We had a couple bonfires in our yard so family and friends can stop while maintaining distance and keeping warm; dogs loved having people over again.

Made some purchases for the truck this past month.

I was in the middle of trying to buy some Relentless Fabrication bed bars from another member on here when I caught the ban. I was able to confirm we had a mutual friend and connected through him to finalize the deal. Pretty thankful because it saved me a hell of a lot of lead time (relentless fab is currently "heavily backordered" on these). Shipping was more than anticipated but he gave me a deal on the bars and some wheel every weekend rtt security mounts.



Also pulled the trigger on a rtt. Love the tent but Roam Adventure Co. sucks when it comes to customer service and accountability. I chose to go this way because it seemed to be the best bang for the buck; free shipping, etc. But, the tent arrived with slight damage. The box was largely undamaged so I accepted it from the shipping company. Once opened, it became apparent one of the corners took an impact and ripped the fabric. Also a cover meant to protect the canvas from the bolt broke.



Reached out to them with pictures; They said its minor, and shouldn’t be a problem. They even recommended me to purchase tent repair tape. After some back and forth they finally gave me a tiny discount but I wouldn't say it makes up for the damage. Amazing they couldnt even send a replacement cover for the bolt. Pathetic. If i knew how all this was going to go down, I would have gone another route. Either way, happy to finally have a rtt and I cant wait to get my family out and exploring.



With the added weight of the tent, I now need to find time put the extra leaf back in the Dakar leaf packs. When I did the suspension this past Summer/Fall, I ordered the kit with the HD leafs, knowing I would be carrying some extra weight in the back at some point. I removed the third leaf in each pack to make it the standard Dakar pack before installing, since I didn't yet have the weight in the back. I guess I will be doing the u bolt flip when I get around to adding the leaf. ahem cough cough @Skierrichy
