The State of Connecticut opened inland fishing, yesterday.

 

Looked at Pella, Anderson and Larson. Saw nothing from them as you described on the websites. There's some high end stuff out there that might, but with a $ tag. We went with an Anderson 3000 series with the rolling screen. Better construction than Pella or Larson. Larson does have a model with a built in closer contained in the top.edge that was a nice clean look but the closer felt flimsy as did the rolling screen compared to the Anderson. Anderson handle was also nicer. Pella has crappy customer support and doesn't have parts availability for older doors for stuff like the lock body.

 

Cant speak to storm doors, but I redid our slider two years back. Went with the Anderson 400 series. Pricier than some other options but we don’t regret it one bit.

Been wanting to do windows for a while. Some spots where the current sill is rotting on the outside, so needs to be addressed fairly soon. Because of the rot, I want to go with new construction all around; treat any bad spots and ensure its flashed correctly this time around. Been trying to figure out if we want to stay with Anderson or go a cheaper route via vinyl or something.

I tend to be the one who would pay a premium for a higher quality product; the wife is a bit on the more frugal side. It works well because she evens me out and keeps our finances from shitting the bed.

When we did windows we also went with new construction (and exterior doors also) and did Therma Tru and have been extremely pleased after 15 years. Ours are oak on the inside to match our interior trim and doors. Not cheap but a quality product.

 

I replaced all of the windows in my house a few years ago and went with Andersen 400 series new construction. Vinyl replacement inserts weren't much less expensive and I was doing the install myself. What's important is to measure the rough opening which you can do by removing the inside trim from a single window for each size and then peruse the aisles to the local HD.

 

The cheap comes out expensive, and on a job like this it's better to pay more and not have to redo this pain in the wang of an install

I was running an errand a little while ago here in Brookfield.

Came across a black Taco coming the other way, and he gave me a wave.

Obviously I waved back. He looked like he was a bit modded too. Nothing crazy, but looked good.

 

FINALLY got a vaccine appointment yesterday via the VAMS phone number.
Took all of 5 days to finally talk to a human. Vams website as well as Hartford Health are a total cluster bang.
Danbury Mall 3/25 for first Moderna shot and already booked my second shot in April.

Did I mention that this process is a total cluster bang?
