    Hey, just found this site.

Im looking for a first gen. 4x4 3.4L manual trans. not too picky about the rest of details....gotta have a back seat....Tryin to learn as much as I can about these trucks.

Ive looked a bit in the local ads and it seems that these trucks are pretty expensive in Canada. At least in BC anyway.

want to know how much I should expect to spend for a clean truck with around 100k-150k Miles.

Im replacing my 98 Dakota v8 4x4. Its got 270kms (170k miles) on it and I dont think its gonna last too much longer lol. terrible on fuel too 12MPG

Im a Toyota guy at heart, my wife drives a 05 Corolla XRS and my toy is a 85 Corolla GTS with a mr2 supercharged 1.6L I just finished swapping in.

    :D

i know what you are going through. I live in kelowna, and have always wanted one of these trucks. So when the opportunity arose i took it. Since than i know that i paid too much, but oh well, can't cry over spilt milk.

When i purchased my 2000 tacoma. it had 116,000 km on it, was an automatic, 4X4 with cruise control, and a 3" lift. i paid $14500.00.

Hope this gives you a benchmark to compare to. I would suggest in your case to consider going down to portland, or washington somewhere. There seems to be loads of them down there and they don't carry as high a price tag as they do up here. Just know that you will be taxed at the border a bit.

Hope this helps. PM me if you have any other questions

ya thats definitely a thought. Wonder how hard it would be to change the instrument panel to kms instead of miles.....not that it really matters...

You will not be able to find a 1st gen double cab (back seat) with a manual transmission. They didn't make them, only automatics.

The xtracab model does have a couple of small pads (with seat belts) in the back but is only suitable for small children. Not really a true back seat. The xtracab is available with a manual transmission.

x2 I also paid a little more than I wanted too...But then again I was looking for the right Taco for over a year...They were asking $16,500.00 and after all said and done ended up paying 13K w/145xxx Km...I am very happy with my purchase :D I factored in the professionally installed 5-1/2" lift and New Wheels/Tires I was going to do anyways into the price...
