I want to bring up my nerf bars. Im not a big fan of them hanging that low and jutting that far out. Is there any brackets out there for side rails that are universal for the brand of my side rails? any ideas or suggestions would be great!

I don't know about any custom brackets, I've never seen nerf bars that sit high and tight. I would take them off and sell them, then buy some sliders instead that will fit much closer to the truck and are much stronger.

Take them off and sell them to a fellow member who wants steps that hang low and stick out. There are people who want exactly that so their kids and wives can use them as a step to get into the truck. The factory steps sit pretty high and close to the cab. If you want steps instead of sliders you might even be able to trade those for factory steps. If you need something super strong that will hold up to abuse then sliders are the way to go.
