My 98 TRD Off-Road PreRunner first gen I drove for 6 years. (Sold in November for 10k with 98k original miles)

I wanted something bigger and was set on an SUV. After driving a few I just couldn't commit to one. I knew if I didn't replace my Tacoma with another one, I'd regret it.

It took me several days of looking to finally find a Tacoma within our price range. I found my SR5 Inferno 300miles away and put a hold deposit down on it, unseen (I'd never drove a 3rd gen either). We drove straight to the dealer on black friday, purchased the truck and I drove it all the way back home the same day (12 hours).

I, like everyone else have a list of mods I'm wanting to complete. Just waiting for the weather to get better!

Thanks Ladies! Inferno wasn't my first color choice but it has grown on me, I love it.

Julia, I followed your truck saga thread! What a whirlwind, I'm so glad you got what you wanted, and more!

Did those running boards come with the truck? I'm needing some that stick out enough to protect from door ding..

Keep an eye on Pullman Toyota. Granted my truck is pretty trashed  but it was 4-6k less than anything here in the Valley, Montana or Utah had.

Keep an eye on Amazon warehouse deals. I have bought two different sets there for about half price. I had aluminum running boards initially, decided I didn’t like them and bought the hoop style that offer less door ding protection but help the wife and kids get in and look better IMO.

    Thank you

Yeah all that saga and truck came Monday

I installed the steps Monday and Tonneau today today and did the black out letters

I love the steps. My mom is elderly and I need to help her , otherwise would have gotten sliders

also with steps keeps wear of the leather bolsters

I made a lot of friends on here and still banter with the guys. Good peeps.
I know its not the right truck but.. can I hang out too? Always awesome to see other truck chicks:rolleyes:

I really like that color. I don't think they made 2021's in that color otherwise that would have been a contender.

Don't quote me on this but I believe Inferno was a 2017 TRD Pro color & then added to the line up in 2018 and discontinued in 2019.

Whoever leased my truck before I bought it lived on a dirt road and the paint is absolutely trashed. Makes me sad, but happy I don't have to be the first one to scratch it. Lol

It was a pro color in 2015 I believe and a standard color from 2016-19, then discontinued for 2020+

Those of you that bought a new or newer truck, what are your thoughts on taking it to the carwash regularly? bad for the paint? good way to keep rust away?

I run my through a touchless wash 2-4 times a month in the winter, and 1-2 times a month when there's no salt on the roads.

Did you say it took you 12 hours to drive 300 miles?

Mine was washed Monday (road grime transport) then coat of wax.

One more coat of wax today. Then it lives on a filthy farm year round

hand wash every 90 days. Wax/polish /clay once a year

I don’t go to car washes
