Hey everyone. I’m Sam, 26, currently living and working full time in Livingston, Montana in the fly-fishing industry. I’m from NC and moved to MT 3 years ago And love it to death, even the winters (and especially shoulder seasons).

Hobbies are everything outside but primarily hunting fishing camping and doing some deep backroad explorations. Sometimes I’ll spend a week out of my rig, others a week in the backcountry. This rig is fit perfectly fit for my lifestyle, I love the shit out of it.

    Rig: 2015 TRD Off-Road V6
Bought used in Dec 2017 with 32,000mi. Metallic Gray (I think?)
    ARB delux bull-bar front bumper
    Color matched Century topper
    KC HiLite’s on the ARB
    ‘Upgraded’ HVAC knobs
    LED backlit grill
    Lots of stickers on it
Magnetic vent clip-on device holders (en-route)
    Envoy XUV rear tent
    Center console organization
2 6.5ton D-ring recovery shackles -blue, to match
LED interior accent lights (all blue except console and glove box): two in the cubbie for cup holders, one in center cup holder, glove box, both from floor areas, center console lower rear vent, center console (in progress). Done via the forum threads. Thank you all.

Sleeping platform / storage platform- in progress - design based off ideas from the forum mass threads.
Rear topper LED lighting- in progress

Anti-steering-rack-zip-tie-mod. Thanks to the forum thank god.

Soon to do molle (?) storage behind the rear seats per the mod. Doubt I’ll get into the group buy as it is out of my price range, but might be able to fab another version myself somehow.

Been browsing and learning a long time, made one post that got ignored but that’s okay because I figured it out and should’ve searched more.

    More pics to come!!!

Nice man! My cousin lives in East Helena. Where did you move from? You best learn, it’s kind of the way around here outside of ice fishing. If you learn that this winter let’s hit Canyon Ferry in March when I get back! I’ve got a buddy that’s got a tent etc. too.

For sure. Reach out in the regional forums. There's always cool stuff going on for trips and events.

I'd also say hid me your wallet on here but it seems like you're off to a good start already haha

Btw how long you been a trout bum for? Haha. Wish we had big fish like you do out west. We can go for the runs in NY and some of the coastal runs in Maine. But for the most part a +3lbs brookie up our way is a big fish haha

Nice, I will for sure. It would be cool to attend one of those in the early spring or late summer.

Haha. To be honest I made my first post that got no response and then found out the actual forum search functionality and figured everything out. I had to wing it on what to order LED wise but it ended up working out fine. I’ve definitely gotten a lot done though. Despite all odds I’m somewhat handy with stuff. Yall’ll be excited to see my sleeping / storage setup in the back with everything installed. I’m excited. Should be all wrapped up in a few weeks, maybe sans the storage behind the backseats.

Haha. Oh man. Since graduating. 2015 or so. I’ve been fly fishing since I was 12. You are near NY? You have no excuse! My buddy lives up there and is dialed in on monster Browns all the time. Things like this. :0 344CDD78-319D-4119-8356-AD818350CCA0.jpg

Hell a 3lb Brookie is a sweet fish. I love catching them even though they have mostly been poisoned out in Montana.

Plenty of hunting and still hunting till Jan.20th. No deer for me yet, been holding out for a 150 inch or bigger. I’m in west central Illinois so we have plenty of good bucks it’s just getting the opportunity for a shot. I actually hit one with my bow back in November but it was a non-lethal shot and I know he’s still alive. The problem now is they’re starting to shed.

I'm in NH. Very short wet season. NY is about an 8-9 he trip , and it's asses to elbows on the salmon run. And with the new trends in fishing you'll see an indicator float by you from someone 200yards up stream. I don't dabble with that any more.

We mostly stick to the remote stuff. Maine has been a breath of fresh air in the past few years. Old stubborn lake browns, big wild brookies ( and small), and the smallie game is fantastic because everyone hates them up there. Haha. I can go to Maine with 5 patterns and be set for months.

All about the monsters though. IMG_20180705_181723.jpg

    Welcome to TW!

I lived in Livingston as a kid for a couple of years. I have not been there for many years. I remember the windy weather.

Not far away is a cool place called Chico Hot Springs. Probably 30 minutes drive away. If you haven’t been there, check it out. I think it’s by a town called Emigrant.

Ahhh Gotcha!!! That is pretty sweet. It’d be nice to have a season run later like that, I guess until you run into them shedding. Those no-mans-land shots suck! Good luck out there!

Ohhh I see! I’m with you on the remote stuff, it’s way more fun to fish for fish that aren’t pressured like most of them are. I did the math and on the upper Madison, each of those fish gets caught about four times (in theory). That’s a lot of pressure!

I’ve always wanted to go fish in Maine. It’s on my short-list. As is a 5lb Brookie but something tells me I might have a shot at that this year ;)
