You could always put the micro bevel back on. What are you using for sharpening?

i was using some type of hand sharpener that consisted of two wheels and you place the knife into the area where the two wheels meet and slide it across but this knife is only left hand grind and i left the sharpener at my dads. but i have a sharpening stick which i know isn't meant for sharpening and I've been using a fine hand file :laugh:

Uh, then I wouldn't suggest trying to put a micro bevel back on. Lol

Get some crock sticks or look at the DMT credit card stones for putting on the main scratch pattern then finish off with the crock sticks for a cheap kit

I'm making that more flat on the tip. I don't like that it's slightly rounded

Phoenix you don't need any mechanical sharpeners to remove a microbevel. All you need is a fine stone or file, and some time to sit and get it knocked out. The metal in that knife isn't particularly hard or difficult so it wouldn't take long.

If you don't have either handy, go buy some sand paper sheets at the hardware store for $1 a piece or whatever and knock it out that way. Sandpaper is king IMO.

I'm using a palm sander with 120 and 220 grit paper to take the tip off of it and i attempted to put a micro bevel on with my hand file and its alright but not the best.

It's chisel ground. No microbevel needed. Microbevel is only used to add a thicker edge profile for strength. Chisel grinds are plenty strong, and super easy to sharpen as they have only a single bevel. You could add a microbevel to the cutting edge, but the back side (if not completely flat) will worsen cutting performance.

I meant on the back of the blade (flat side). I thought you said you wished the flat side had a microbevel. Sorry.
