Small knives are good. Consider how many inmates are killed by prison shivs each year.

It's similar to that scandi you got for your buddy. Thick, scandi grind. Works great for its intended purpose, grind is a little less than ideal for general tasks.

This one I have a hard time using. The F1 not so much.

On a side note. Last week I stood next to a beat up butcher table with a tiny ass belt sander. Reving it up. Felt like a bad idea. I googled up a custom shop and they ran it under their 60 inch wide drum sander. Best money spent. Look at this work surface!!! I saved this old table from our family grocery store. I had it stored 20 years. And it was in the store when I was a tiny kid.

How much does something like that cost? I'd be interested if I could afford it haha. I know custom knives are definitely not cheap.

    Thank you!

mjbtaco -- It all depends on the materials... that smaller one is about $120 in materials... I would sell for around $180... maybe more to include shipping. If you want to pick out materials and blade type from Jantz (for example this blade: http://www.knifemaking.com/product-p/ss633.htm?CartID=2. With Walnut handles, brass bolsters and pins) I could make it! (p.s that knife would only be about 80-90 dollars).

They have some amazing Damascus blades.. that are a bit more expensive, but they also have all your hunters, gutters, Tanto blades, Bowies, daggers, kitchen knives and more.

I am relatively knew to knife making, but that just means I put more time into each knife!
