Under two inches isn't terrible practical...but you're right. The LE/MIL thing is because they're generally exempt when their jobs require it.

Yeah I know lol my dad gave me a little Protech flipper and I just wanted to make sure I could carry it. It's a bad ass little knife coming in at like 1.95" lol but that's why I usually carry a kershaw or my Rat Model 1 in another.

Just picked up an Ontario Rat Model 2. It's so small lol. Definitely like the feel of the model 1 better in my hand but still love the model 2.

No scratch that I found my chart again last night. I take my Benchmade down to about 16°.
I did it at first to see what the steel could do and have been extremely impressed with M390. Brittle, but even down this thin it holds its edge just as long as my Kershaw did at 21°

I just found this photo I made in 2007 of part of my knife collection. The photo is not to scale. The top row are smaller knives and they get bigger each row down.

    Kiridashis are fun.

Most make them from leftover material from cutting out the regular blades from larger pieces of stock

    Chisel ground goodness.

I bought one once, in 154 CM from a dude who did the custom scales for my Spyderco and I'm 99% sure it was never heat treated. He didn't have the ability to heat treat at home and it rolled the tip under mundane use.

Yeah I'd assume those blades would need extra care in the heat treatment with such a fine tip. I generally don't go for those types of blades. I had a kershaw leek for about a month. Ended up losing it and let's just say I'm not sad about it lol.

Me too! I sprung the second left hand blade on Matt after he had started mine, so we're looking at 2nd week in March for delivery. I want to see what the scales look like with a nice finish on them.

    No kidding.

A high gloss polish on burl is incredibly sexy.

    And that grind is flawless.

    Would. Would. Would!

I know this is the knife thread, but since we're talking about wood I figured you guys would like to see a couple of the custom grips I've had made for my Dan Wessons.

    Holy wood!!!

I have some cocobolo and some black African wood waiting to become knife scales. I'm just waiting mostly on some wood working talent to kick in. I don't want to waste it.

Had to get another Titanium bottle opener for my Keychain the first one was way too big lol. Heat anodized the mini too. There's my ProTech Sprint for a size comparison.

Just got these from one of my old friends. Except for the rat model 1 and eos bottle opener. I bought another rat model 1 cuz they're on sale for 25 bucks on Amazon lol.
