My BK16 has discolored before, but mostly because of the blood all over it. It's hard to get all the deer out of a sheath after you field dress one and put up your blade to pack it out. No reason to strip the blade unless you like the look and need to do finer slicing/food prep maybe.

Edit to add - I'm also thinking about epoxying the handles to the blade and filling the screw holes/bolts with epoxy. The Becker handle collects blood & guts really badly. I have to disassemble it entirely after I gut a deer.

Well today is my birthday and my wife bought me a CRKT with a note inside that said use this to open your real present. Walked outside on the front porch and saw a huge box. Opened it up and inside were these!

Hey guys and gals, I'm looking to buy a new EDC knife. The law in P.R. for carrying knives states that the blade cannot be larger than 3 inches, so I was looking for opinions based on your experience on some good knives with 3 inches or less. Thanks in advanced!!!

Couldnt tell you I bought it just about 2 years ago along with 6 others when I got married for me and my groomsmen. But it's a pretty slick knife it's loaded off a coil so it flips open nice and smooth

    Benchmade mini griptilian
    Sanrenmu 7010 (super cheap)
    Kershaw Skyline

Depending on your budget. Start cheap and go from there. I carry my mini grip all the time. There's definitely better knives out there but it's my favorite EDC.

I've had several Kershaw's and have been happy with them. Have the Ken Onion Blur for a few years and just picked up a Brawler off Amazon lightning deal for $22, didn't really need it but oh well, still in box, in the drawer with my other back ups lol

Here's a better picture of the knife my wife bought me.

    20160309_221717.jpg

Bought myself this Ken Onion designed CRKT Ripple. The finish on the scales is super ugly. So I'll probably refinish them a solid color lol. Not super impressed with the bearing system. It's smooth but feels like there's a little resistance. May loosen the pivot a little and see if that does anything. I'll probably lubricate the bearings too.
