    nothing cool
It really is. I'm always flipping a knife while driving. Just a habit and keeps me focused. I've already broken two Kershaw Cryos by continuous flipping them. Now this new Hootenanny is a lot of fun.

Question for the knife making folks...

Got any good recommendations for sources for good knife blanks? Myself and 3 friends have had some great adventures in the field together, and we're looking to make some commemorative knives for ourselves. We want to start working on handles for pre-forged and pre-ground blanks so all we have to do is make handles and pin/epoxy them. Eventually when we're good enough with hardwoods, micarta, etc., we have some special elk antlers that we want to use.

I've found some sites with blanks, but we're looking for practice blanks AND also the final quality blanks for the finished products.

Nice. We rented a cabin in Glen Haven last summer and one in Drake this summer. We love Alaska as a vacation spot most, but CO is a great substitute. A short 12 hour drive from home! Lol.

Got lots on eBay. Just get a good quality steel and stay away from the cheap overseas stuff. And for supplies, alpha knife supply is great.

    Thanks!
The Marfione Matrix is a very very slim and light knife. The Direware solo is a tank. Very fat and heavy for a titanium knife.

    9.8 oz for the Direware,
5.5 oz for the full sized matrix,
3.5 oz for the mini, which is a great EDC knife.

Interesting. I thought the titanium one would be lighter. Most of my titanium knives are light, but I can see that it is bulky, which might be the reason.

The Direware is an elegant brick.

    It's a chunky motherfucker.

Well, the Matrix is a titanium frame lock too, but the other scale is carbon fiber which is way lighter than titanium.

Exactly! Imagine if it was stainless!

Nice collection. I just bought the Hootenanny. But the first one they sent me had terrible side to side, and up and down blade play. I want to like CRKT knives but I swear I have either bad luck with them. Or they're quality control for fit and finish is terrible.
