I have the benchmade triage which is n680, carry it every day at work. I can say one thing for sure...its fucking shit for edge retention. Sharpen it at least every 2 weeks

    Gorgeous

See.....I think a lot has to do with how the steel is tempered. I have a Gerber with a 440C blade, and it takes abuse, and holds an edge as well as I would expect. I also have another No Name 440C blade that looses an edge just by looking at it.

Love my kitchen cutlery. Shun Classic series. 68 layered Damascus with a VG-MAX core. Holds a 16 degree edge.

Man. I would love to get my hands on some good kitchen knives, but my Wife would ruin them. We use the lower line Wustoff stuff. Holds an edge well, but knowing how we can be hard on them (I accidentally knifed my sink the other day), I think its best I don't spend more than I have

    Haha!

It's made by a company called Black Leaf Forge. I do believe the owner/founder is Canadian - maybe French Canadian?

I went to their website to check it out. I wish there was a bit more info but it looks like something worth owning.

Yeah, I read about them in a knife magazine. They started as a Kickstarter", and went up from there. They use pretty good materials, and its rapidly growing to be my favorite knife. I was going to get a Chris Reeve Small Sabenza, but there are quality issues since He and his Wife split. Figured at the price of a Small Sabenza, I could get a couple of these, and see if they are worth a crap. They are!

They are pretty new. From what I have gathered, its one dude who is having local companies do the machine work, and he assembles, sharpens, and inspects each one. Now that most knife making is automated, its nice to see a small shop put out a nice, quality, usable knife. I like that its not crazy looking, and simple.
