Lmao. Yeah I work in an office at night so I occasionally need a flashlight, and there's grills outside and sometimes need the lighter to turn em on haha. Lighter, chapstick, flashlight, and a knife. That's what I carry lol. Oh and a wallet that doubles as a bottle opener, cuz you never know haha

My RAT-5 arrived today. My first legit knife that should last a life time. I have tons of others but none like this.

Anyone know of any knife shops or makers in Maui? Out here on vacation and would love to pick something up.

You might also like the Spartan Harsey Difensa. They are very similar.

Yes, that was the other fixed blade I was considering. Both the Pacific and Difensa have the same feel in the hand, which is very comfortable and natural for my grip.

They should be very similar. I have a Difensa and had the same impression. Same hand feel, comfortable, and well balanced.

They range from mid 4'ish, to 5'something if you can find them new. They'll bring more than that used
often times. They're another awesome Idaho'an knife maker.

Same here, I typically "try" no to use them as a screw driver, or pry bar, but other than that, I use it like I would any other knife(other than batoning through wood).
I justify the price to myself as I use one multiple times everyday, so it's not like a gun that I only get to shoot every now and then. I get to enjoy the craftsmanship
dozens of times a week. I also, bought it as a gift to myself for hitting a personal milestone. I've recently hit another milestone, and celebrated with another knife.

Here's a few that go through the EDC rotation L-R: Spyderco P'Kal, SOG Flash II, Cold Steel Spartan. I sometimes carry a Cold Steel Voyager XL as well.

I heart those Striders. I'd ask how you like them, but I guess it's pretty obvious.
