I prefer to collect Case knives because of their quality, made in USA, and I like their looks. Only two of them are carry knives (one of which isn't pictured), the rest stay in the box locked up in my safe.

I really would like to have a Kershaw for my carry knife though.

something nice about a case knife. new or old, they have this timeless feel about them. you can rub the side and feel the ridges and where it transitions to the smooth metal bits.

i can sharpen mine to a ridiculous level. i was so interested that i had to research the names of the different blades..one is a spay blade..like as in "hey, is this dog spayed?"..i think back in the day..this was the tool!! amazing. imagine some rancher, making heifers with the small blade? i like them!

No. They come with a soft cloth presentation bag. Kinda like My Wifes' higher end purses...

    It looks like a sheath.

My wife asked for a lock blade. I got her a solingen blade locker. She doesn't like the custom made boot knife I gave her as much. She cuts the throats of a lot of deer. Something I dont do.

My wife drives mostly on backroads. She finds a lot hit by cars and doesn't like to see them suffer.

i have no clue. i once tried to search it and those CASE people are prolific..there are alot of models, i gave up.

you have a cool wife. i watched a butcher cut a throat once. he was a pro. it was more of a targeted stab to the jugular. to a pig. much neater than my cut. i need to learn his move.

I found this a while back when trying to see how old my dads folding hunter is.
This will help you read your pattern stamp:
    http://www.wrcase.com/case_college/patterns/patternstamps.php
And these are the different patterns produced within the last 10 years:
    http://www.wrcase.com/case_college/patterns/knifepatterns.php

The links on the right hand side of the first page (Case College) can help you find other info on your knife such as year, blade type, blade steel used, handle pattern, and so on.
