Hey TW! Let's see your knives!

This is gettin outta hand haha. Stoped by the local dealer to bs and talk with him. Ending up buying a 2nd 940-2 haha. Got it for a freaking steal, brand new in box. Other one I got was also bnib off of bladeforums. Soo now I have have two 940-2 in one week haha.

Centering is perfect, grind is perfect, fit and finish is top notch. I check 4 of them he had and all 4 the quality control was top notch. Might someday add a standard 940 in the green aluminum but my god these g10 scales are sweet!

 

I definitely prefer the 940-2 over the standard one. Not a huge fan of the aluminum scales and back spacer. Prefer the barrel spacers on the 940-2. I swapped out my green ones for some blue ones but it looks like I might need to hit em with some heat to bring the blue back to life lol. That's the problem with flame anodizing titanium. Might try to see if benchmade will send me some from the 940-1.

 

I should have jumped on the 940 band wagon years ago. My dad has a first production run from 99-2000 when they came out. I have a pile of other ones but these 940-2s might be the best edc knife I have ever owned. Really looking forward to skinning some deer and hogs and see how they do.

Got more than this one, but this means the most. My girls got it for me this past Christmas. Wanted to put it in the safe and keep it there, but was promptly asked if why it wasn’t good enough to carry. It now goes where I do, always.

 

Another used EBay score where it will reside.

 

That is the most precious knife in your collection. Take it from an old guy, make it your EDC, will always bring a smile when used. Because of the importance, less likely to lose it. My .02

 

Just picked up the last Pro-Tech Half Breed I could find from any reputable dealer online. They're discontinued which is too bad. Its a nice little knife in S35VN, got to use it quite a bit today. Also picked up a Sprint, which is what the Half Breeds blade came from. Gotta stay under 2 inches on any auto knife here in Cali.

 

You are spot on right good sir! I did what you’ve suggested after Christmas, and it does exactly what you said it would. All on top of the fact, it’s a damned good knife, sentiment not withstanding.

 

I have a bugout I don't use any more and was gonna put it on eBay for $80. If you're interested I'll give it to you for a little TW discount. I switched over to my ProTech auto and Benchmade 531.
Edit: I like it a lot, but decided I like knives with a little less belly in the blade, more like the Spyderco style. It's definitely a solid knife though.

 

I prolly spoke too soon. The boost is a fantastic hunting and heavy duty knife, but after carrying a 940-2 the last month I’m blown away. The 940 series might be the best edc benchmade ever made. Shoot me a pm though, highly interested in the bugout sir!
