All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    What is this?

Chris Reeve Sebenza 21. My wife bought it for an anniversary gift about 8 years ago. It has since been replaced by the 31.

Get one and you'll wonder why you waited so long.

I would probably not get another Sebenza 31 though. Not because there's something wrong but because I think as long as the 21 is still available, it's a good choice.

The 31 has its problems too and not taken too very fondly from the CRK fans.

Get you one! There's a gal on Bladeforums that has over 125 CRKs in her collection. Talk about an expensive hobby! I'm more practical and cutting performance trumps all other factors for me!

It ain’t the numbers, it’s in the find! I paid a guy $180 to make me a custom mini clever for camping. Has edges on all sides! Thing is one of the sickest knives I have and is made out of an old ford leaf spring!
Not fancy, but gets used like hell. It is super comfy

There’s a thousand things I could spend $1000 on ... If I didn’t tend to lose my EDC every 5 years I would be tempted to go for it. I already have another benchmade ready to rotate in when I lose this one.

The vast majority of complaints are in one of a few camps "why change a good thing?", the legitimate "lock/rock". And the third is my opinion and that's the people who get something and automatically experience something others have. I guess the other complaint was about the blade steel that was used. Everyone wonders why S45VN wasn't used (it is on the SHF 3.25 I just posted). I think any of today's blade steels would work well.

I was most concerned about the lock mechanism and with some basic changes, it's fine. CRK even addressed them in a YT video. I feel the knife is on par with others. If you offered me a Sebenza 21 or 31, I'd be fine with the 21-to me, they're the same. I will admit, I needed to practice a bit more on the 31 to get it opening like the 21.

I also have a Umnumza to compare the 31 to-the locking mechanisms are the same or similar.

$375 for the plain Jane version.

But yeah, I hear you. Losing an expensive knife sucks.

Not in Canada, although the exchange rate is 1.3 to 1 we pay a premium on top of that.
