Birthday present from my brother. He knows what I like

And since Benchmade is 20 minutes from my home I can easily stop in and take advantage of their lifetime free sharpening.

    Thanks Bro!

This is only my second Benchmade and I have to say this thing is extremely well balanced and feels great in the hand. Solid and sturdy.
I use my knives and I mean use and abuse so I've never spent a lot on a knife because I figure its just going to get abused anyway. I usually buy Gerber, CRKT, Kershaw, Buck and the like. Not garbage by any means but not what I would consider upper tier.

My instinct is to put this thing on the shelf but I suppose it does come with lifetime cleaning, oiling, sharpening and any other needed maintenance so I may just make this my new daily carry.

I just carry every one of mine and use them. It doesn't matter the cost from my free NWTF knife to my XM-24 hinderer. I will say the cheaper the knife and cheaper the steel the more I'm babying them and less hard using them because they don't hold up and don't really carry them as much. When I was talking about the M4 steel I have 3 knives in that steel now and between that and the 20cv my hinderers are in are my favorites. When I say I hard use I cut probably a hundred + linear feet of conveyor belting material, cardboard, plastics, and tape a day. The blades may occasionally tap some metal and most definitely cut through to wood.

Carry that knife you won't be disappointed. It's strong and will hold up well. Once you start wearing through the coating the M4 will start to patina and it'll look really good. After carrying that you'll start to realize that the "cheap" tools weren't always the best tools. It'll hold up to anything you need it too. Get you some bits and some KPL or something like that and upkeep it yourself.

Took a forging class with my brothers and produced this outta rebar. Not gonna win any beauty contests, but it was fun as hell and it looks like I made it. My pointy butter knife.

I noticed the patina was getting pretty dark and while I was bored, I thought I'd buff it out with the dremel too see what it would look like.

These arrived today, 2 Civivi Brazens. The cheaper(red) one was noticeably sharper and had better action out of the box.

    Like, so many.
Really hard to beat an ESEE.

I got a Benchmade Bugout for my birthday. After handling one I had to have it. It’s so light and thin that it just disappears in your pocket. I’ve got a lot of knives and I can tell that this will be one I carry a lot.

Great knife for house shorts. Won't leave your shorts sagging like a cholo. Lol

Bestech Swordfish, Knifecenter exclusive. $90 for 4" of S35VN. I bought it to replace my ZT 0452cf that I sold recently.
I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I much prefer liner over frame locks.

These Esee knives are simply awesome, it's incredible how heavy and thick this 5" knife is. It's 1095 steel and nowhere near as sharp as their smaller S35V knives, but it'll work for almost anything.
