    Just the basics
Those look great. Are you doing any 940/945 scales?

Not yet. I did model the 940-1/2 and 3D print it to test fitment. I might try machining a few sets towards the end of the year. I really need to crank out the mini crooked river scales because I a few people interested in them.

I need orange scales for a 940 like yesterday! It’s my main hunting knife and I hate setting the black 940-2 down in the wood. If you can make a set of orange 940 scales I will buy a set .

I’ve got a set of Jade 940 scales. I wonder how well I could dye them orange. :welder:

I am jealous of your skills. Would it be possible or have you thought about using those skills to make bad-ass gun grips? Because I will buy. Or maybe you already make them?

I’ve thought about making grips but I don’t think I can complete with how low the prices are for most available online.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
This right here is why our country has ended up in a hand basket. People don’t wanna pay for craftsmanship once. They would rather pay less many times over.

I for one pay my buddies more than the normal rate, cause the buddy price doesn’t help anyone get anywhere in life, just making more acquaintances ;)

It depends on what you’re buying. Scales are readily available in a quality and price similar to the original and for many, that works. It’s sure easier if you change color several times.

It’s definitely a buy once; cry once experience if you have a very nice knife and want nice scales.

I’m excited about that magnacut steel. I’ve been toying with the idea of offering it with my knife I’m working on.

One of my favorite fixed blade makers. Spent few days there last week for Grind-in. Grear meeting the crew and bunch of other knife fanatics.

I've seen few knives offered in it. Was good talking with Donavon Phillips about it an what he thinks about its performance. He's a BladeSport Competitor, Champion Chopper. Really nice guy.
I'm looking forward to use it an see how it performs, maintains edge an sharpens.

I can only imagine it’s going to kick butt. I have a bit of a metallurgical understanding from my Mechanic engineering degree and after reading DR. Larrin Thomas’s book Last month I have no doubt his magnacut recipe will be amazing.

Did you see River's Edge Cutlery on YouTube with Larrin Thomas of knife steel nerds ? Magnacut is looking promising, could be game changer, time will tell, little more costly but benefits could out weigh it

Mini Crooked River Scales made from dyed box elder burl. I’m going to make a few small adjustments on the hole diameters and counterbore depths and then I’ll be able to crank out a few sets to sell

    What haven’t I changed?
The mice are multiplying. I got the Giantmouse Ace Grand a few weeks ago but it and the GM8 just made me want a GM5 even more, which I’ve been chasing since last year.
