There's a tendency to get hung up on the expensive ones. But I feel like there are a lot of good knives in the $50 to $100 range too.

I like that a lot. Classy, but still has that dagger look. I am been looking at Finch for awhile. Should pull that trigger on one. Hard to replace by Syderco Para 3. I always end up going back to it.

    Just the basics
Last week my car was ransacked (my fault for leaving it unlocked) and one item the tweeker got away with was my Ka-bar in my go/stay bag. They have doubled in price since I bought it 9 years ago.

That's my first one, I like it a lot. Something different that the norm. And it has great action and quality construction to boot. Most of their knives are a little smaller than I normally prefer, but I'm considering a couple other ones.

I've been reading a lot about people disappointed with the whole "drop" mechanism many online retailers are putting in place for knives that are in demand. Myself, I don't care for it because you can be on time and get the product in your cart only to get cart sniped which is unfair, especially for those with slow internet connection.

Anyway, Jason from DLT went live this morning to talk about drops and I guess he's had more than a few people call the store and rip his peeps a new one. Man, who knew? I've been dealing with him for a while and they have always been helpful. He's encouraging other dealers to 86 them--he's doing that now. Kinda sucks that some feel the need to act like spoiled brats.

    Pretty crazy.

It use to suck not get knives I wanted but learn that I don't need a dozen pm2's. I learn just because it looks good, I want it that realistically I don't need it. Each time I copped a knife, handle it for awhile a sell it for tad less then what I got it for. Each one of those knives I sold I just kept lossing from $10-50+ each just to try it. Shit adds up over time. In the end. I just lose money just to "try" a new knife. Now I try to control my "wants" and "needs". Too many hundred of knives to release each week to months to years to keep up with.

Picked up a new Spartan Blades Ronin Shoto. A Tu Lam designed knife. Described as a Karambit though not really in the traditional sense, it's still not a bad defensive weapon. I have a Hinderer draw-on-open version that's not quite as easy to draw as you need to grip between the thumb and forefinger.

This is one of Spartan's "Field Grade" knives so easier on the wallet too.

    Ol' faithful

It's a Gerber Automatic that I've had for over 17 years. Received it while in the military and it's gone on two combat tours to Iraq with me.

Has a locking feature to prevent automatic discharging of said knife, as well as a lock to make it a fixed blade.

Sorry but using my thumb to cover my 'kill number'

Any recommendations on a small fixed blade? Was looking at the Bradford guardian 3. Thought I’d give fixed blades a shot after owning nothing but folders. Let’s say 3.5” or less and sub-$200.

Oooh that GMF1 looks pretty good. In all honesty this knife will probably be used for cutting food at work so the easier to clean the better. I just want to be tacticool with my concealed knife. I used my ZT 0350 to carve up a rotisserie chicken and that grease is a bitch to get out.
