LT Wright Patriot. Mines with O2 steel. Takes a edge and holds it easily. Small enough to carry in your pants pockets.

This is always my first recommendation, but some people don’t want to deal with the minor maintenance needed for carbon steel.

The Izula 2 is a bit longer handle. If you get an Izula, you can get extended handles from The Knife Connection. You’ll be well under $150 either way. Another solid add-on would be kydex from Armatus Carry. That’s how I’ve carried mine daily for about 3 years.

It’s unfortunate people don’t want to deal with carbon steel or want the super steels because they think they are better. You can’t beat the ease of sharpening and how razor sharp a blade can get with minimal effort. Plus a hard earned patina looks badass. I have stainless knives and they are nice but it’s just not the same.

Couldn’t agree more. Almost everything I carry is 1095.

Yeah, it’s an old school high carbon alloy. Doesn’t have the best edge retention, but it’s easy to sharpen, takes a great edge, and develops a patina with use. Checks all the boxes for me.

Just like my first "nice" knife that I carried for years. It started me down an expensive path.

My latest update to my go to EDC, Para3. Titanium scales and hardware. Not the best pics but you get it. Its a bit on the heavy side but I like that. Still beats my ontario rat knives. Love those too!

Thanks. Thinking of giving a benchmade bugout the same treatment.
