How many knives before you have "too many"? I mean we can make jokes all day about there never being too many, but if one were to say X number is a sensible number; what is that number? I don't have one in mind hence the question.

I bought good quality folding pocket knives before I bought my first real fixed blade. I now have over double the amount of fixed blade knives vs folders. Most recent acquisition being just a few posts above. Two Benchmade folders and six various fixed blades, smallest being an ESEE Candiru and largest being the Tops T2. I'll only ever use one knife at a time. I suppose the others could very easy be called spares, or be temporary loaned to friends if there was a legitimate need. For me, I can't justify what I already have let alone buy any more. Curious what others think, collectors and such aside.

It's an individual thing I suppose. I have more than most and fewer than some. My answer would be buy what you want or feel comfortable owning.

    Just the basics
I definitely have too many. Like you said, only going to use one at a time. I actually took out all my knives yesterday. Thought about carrying one of the nice titanium 940s but I've really been using my edc more lately and it's showing the use. This is good because it's the original 940.

Man, that’s just too subjective. If it’s something that gives you some sort of satisfaction or dopamine hit, then there really isn’t a limit. I would say you have too many if it is affecting your finances or relationships negatively. Otherwise, let her rip!

I have enough guns. That’s my opinion of course but I don’t need anymore so I don’t bother. As far as knives this is my most used type of knife. My EDC if you will

I just picked the Milwaukee up yesterday and it’s a little awkward for my left hand but I like it anyways. I like the razor knives cuz I work in the dirt and can dull it in one use but I can just change the blade around or replace it. My brother who passed on 10 years ago drilled into me keeping a knife on me at all times. Ever since when someone asks if I got a knife I say where's yours?!

My pocket knife, I've got big pockets, lol. Haven't sharpened it in twenty years.

Cuts through ham & roast beef like butter :)

    Wwwhhhhaaaaa….
That’s awesome! I talked so much shit about the shortcut before the Feb preorder email showed up in my inbox and I caved.
I really need to start doing better research when trying to justify my expensive impulses…
Can I get details on this thing??

Amazon, $49. I'm moving, so I'm cutting a bunch of tape and boxes and got tired of sharpening my every day pocket knives. I usually carry an auto, so I wanted one that was one handed open.

That's a good question. I guess if you only want a EDC then anything more than one is too much. But then maybe a EDC for hunting, one for fishing, one for hiking, one for work..... Then multiple is still acceptable.
I have more than 100. I buy a few, then decide it is silly because they just end up in a drawer. Then I stop until one day I see one and decide to get it because I find a justification, which opens the gates for more, until I decide to stop again. Going through phases.

However, just about every knife I have, has a story. I hardly ever buy a knife just because I like it. It is almost always to remember a significant event. A nice holiday, a friend's funeral, a child's accomplishment, a first day at a new job, etc ... that makes the justification a little easier.

Never liked the Para’s but absolutely had to have this Micarta CruWear Para 2 and it became my immediate favourite.
