Haha. Last time I went camping I found an old tree stump and decided to stick it a couple of times with it mounted on the rifle. Very gratifying!

For 10 bucks, he'll I'd get a couple. Make great first knives for kids and it is rediculously sharp from the factory, can't imagine it whenever I decide to take it to my 5000 grit stone

Love the spyderco's They have been some of my first hard use knives and most reliable and reasonable. So Just ordered the Spyderco Tuff G-10 and Titanium Folding Knife. Got it for $259.00 from Blade HQ.
Nice knife the one you have. What type of steel is it?

I have a few. daily rotation depending where i am going

    emerson cqc15
    emerson roadhouse
    strider sng
    strider pt
    spyderco manix 2
    benchmade mini griptilian.

i as well have cqc 7 from 2000 #27, but do not have a pic of it for some reason.

My favorite knife right now is the strider pt.
Just got the emerson roadhouse and have carried it yet.
emerson cqc 15, perfect knife, My favorite large folder by far, have had it for 6 years now, and she has held up to anything i throw at it.
Strider sng, built like a tank
Spyderco manix, i like the knife, has a great feel, wish i got a non serrated blade though. My only complaint is that the gimping is too sharp and when closed it is way to wide for the pocket. still a really nice knife.
Benchmade mini griptilian, nice little knife for under 100 bucks, i keep it in the center console of the truck just so there is a knife there all the time.

I also have a ontario RAT 5 in my camping gear.

Have been thinking about a Esee 3 or 4 or bark river recon 1.
And i would love a Busee gemini battle mistress, but it is just not that important too me right now.

Loving the striders man... Looks like the Emerson has done some time Hahaha... Nice... I love my SMF but I'm gonna be getting a couple of SnGs soon... A perfect size for my style of EDC... But that SMF is Beast

Give the strider PT a feel in the hand. After many years of carrying large military type folders, the PT just jumped right in my pocket. It is like 2 3/4" blade, nice and small, feels great in the hand, and is a good little slicer. It really has become my favorite edc. I agree the SMF is a beast. I wish i had got the sng in a drop point instead of the tanto blade.

I used to buy all my knives with a combo serrated blade, but as of recently, i am going more towards a non serrated blade and find them to be better for my needs.

I love my striders as well, but for some reason, my Emerson knives have been the most tried and true folders i have ever had, you can put them threw the ringer, send the to hell and they come back ready to go. They are just tough tried and true knives without the bling factor.

    Just one guys opinion.

Yea man I actually got to try the PT... For me it would be an excellent gentleman's knife... Damn near perfect size... I have grown accustomed to the 3.5" size blade... Maybe a 4" but depends on the blade , some are just to flippin heavy and huge... Again depends on the application...

Yea Emerson's had some issues in the past but the ones I have owned never gave me an issue at all(and they where mixed reviews too) the reviews where more along the line of the bling factor like you said and "fit and finish" they are modestly priced too... I got rid of them just to get more not that anything was wrong with them... I'm not a big fan of having 25 folding knives (at least not right now haha) ... I think both you and I are more users than collectors haha...

Gentleman's knife is a excellent way to explain the PT. Really is a great small package.

i am far from a collector, and i may pay more for a knife then some others, but between my taste and knowing what will not fail in hard use, i will continue to use what works for me, even if they are over a few hundred bucks.

I will find a pic of my cqc 7, it looks as if fell in the trash compactor for 15 minutes, but it is built like a tank and works as the day i bought it 11 years ago. dropped it off and my cqc 15 to emerson for a tuneup and they loved seeing a knives that has been abused and beat on. I just figured any knife got beat on, but guess not. no drawer queen knives in my rotation.
