Theyre customs. Scales are buckeye burl, pins are a pattern i like to call dogs paws. I ordered in the steel, the rest is me. I made 4-5 as gifts last xmas. A friend of mine who moved to another state knows i used to make my own micarta and did pins and knives as a hobby. He sent me a link to a $500 custom knife with a note "can you make this?" You cant make the same custom twice so trying to duplicate someone elses is impossible. But i surprised him with a nice one, then decided to do a few more for other friends, and actually kept one for myself (top one). Its "my" first nice knife even though ive made quite a few  all told if i retailed them out i probably gave away close to 2k in steel last xmas. The last went to a client of mine who is an avid hunter. He wont take the damn thing off his display cabinet and use it!

Ive got pics of the others, all in buckey and damascus, some with straight pins some with my mosaics. Its a fun hobby and occaisionally having a grinder whip a sharp knife past your face at 200mph makes it interesting from time to time  and making new leather into an antique looking sheath is a bigger pain than anything.

    Glad you appreciate them :)

Thanks again. I hadn't made one in 3-4 years before this batch, I was worried a bit since I wasn't using the cheapest of materials
Misc photos. I was really impressed with the buckeye when I did the first one. I did it because it was different, did them all last year with different cuts. Stuff looks fantastic imo. This batch was the first I did with damascus, everything else was 440. The damascus is SO much nicer.

Amboyna Burl, don't remember where this one went. Probably sold it.

I called this one desert camo, cuz why not  Gave it to an airforce guy who was shipping to the sandbox. It still needed some cleanup on the blade before I took pictures.

This was a giveaway I did on another forum. I used to make denim micarta scales for other knife makers, so all the funky colored stuff is my work as well.

That's about it unless you want a hundred or so of just different micarta patterns I did. Not very exciting

Its pretty neat, cheap but messy to make. And when you work it you really need to wear a repirator. Damn near indestructible when youre done though. Im headed out of town tonight though and wont be back until the end of the month so it will have to wait :)

    But if you go here
    http://s133.photobucket.com/user/NdIndy/library/Knives/scales?sort=3&page=1

Ive got a few pages of color patterns. When i was making and selling them id cut and finish a piece so you could see what it should look look when its done.

Im back if you want a tutorial. No pics though, i didnt take any when i was doing them. You would have $2-3 per set if you do lots and shop the right places, i would sell them for $15/set. If you do 1 set, it will be more expensive :). Its like reloading, the first box you reload will be the most expensive ammo in the world. After that and you have the gear, reloading is cheap.

And be warned. If you do several sets you need to be man enough to hang out at hobby lobby and thrift stores, the womens clothing aisles.

But you also need to go to the welding shop and be able to weld, so it evens out.

I started with the extreme diy route and the stuff i made was crap. Hours and hours of working a slab to make it useable. A little thought, some welded diy equipment, then some pre-set and perfect slabs every time, ready to go in about 20 minutes. Once youre set is put together, takes about a day to cure and be workable. A couple days just in case it cures slow. In the end, done correctly, you have 2 perfect slabs.

Used mine all weekend in the campsite - cleaning turtles mostly. Good knife, but any bare spots in the finish will rust really quick outdoors. Keep it oiled!
