Durr. BLO is my choice. And Obenaufs for my leather.

    Boiled
    Linseed
    Oil

All you need for wood handles, any varnished wood handled implement gets sanded to bare wood and coated in BLO. No blisters, and the more use they get the smoother the shafts become. Just keep them oiled and maintained properly and they'll never shrink and loosen up, either.

Knifes and guns were my only passions for most of my life. I have gotten rid off nearly all my knives. Now I have a dozen users and one I can't bring myself to use. Rather beat up a Mora.

    BHK/Canteen Shop Woodcrafter.

My absolute.favorite user is Fällkniven F1.

I use linseed oil on my finish knife. I want to mount it in my bed so it'll be exposed to the elements and even with proper oiling and care it's still gonna have some issues. I live on the beach so rust is a huge issue and its going to get rained on and such. That's why I was leaning towards a composite or plastic handle and have my buddy make a kydex sheath? Is that what there called for axes too? Either way I'd like to keep it locked up in a toolbox or to a bed bar and forget about it until I need it but that might not be the best option at this point

I think that's what I'll get. I was hoping for something more boutique but it'll fit better for my use and they have a lifetime warranty

Boutique = wood handle. Fiskars is a great axe for what it is.

Try BLO. Make sure it's boiled linseed oil, not raw linseed oil.

This is the only knife I have that isn't in my truck outside.
BHK/CC Woodcrafter. BHK (Blind Horse Knives) has since became LT Wright Knives and Battle Horse Knives. Should have a custom in hand this time next year, similar to this and similar to a Skookum Bush Tool.

Interesting. I'll have to try that. I liked that the linseed keeps it slightly shiney but doesn't leave it wet or sticky

All of mine but the spyderco gets used. My finish knife is getting a custom kydex edc sheath soon that I'm hella excited about. There's an awesome orvis benchmade out right now that I'm thinking about but I can't bring myself to by an even remotely Tacticool knife. I like wood handles too much

The only pic I've got. I posted up earlier in the thread a different pic. I picked it up from a knife maker off the street in Helsinki who's father made them. Curly birch and raindeer bone handle

TBH, the best part of them is the Axis lock. Not any better than a Spydie of similar build, IMO.

I want a Ritter grip, anyway.

That's beautiful. Any initials from the maker, or a sheath?

The sheath is raindeer leather with roughly burnt hoof prints on it
