Just measure from the top of the bed side to the bottom of the tail light. Match that measurement at the rear wheel. Tape, Mark, remeasure, and cut.

I used a die grinder. If I did it again, I'd use an angle grinder. The bigger blade will get you through the metal and the flare at the same time.

Also, I popped the plastic off the top of the bed rail. It moves and is hard to get an accurate measurement from. I also placed a block of wood on top of the bed side and measured off of it. This way I could measure straight down without the curve of the bedside throwing things off.

Do you have a write up for this, and did you notice much of a difference in the lift height in the back after install?

I just did it a few weeks ago. Figured it was time. I can't figure out how to make the words "build thread" the link though.

@Sub-Zero told me how to do it the other day, but I don't remember :notsure:

This is all the write up I did, but here's the thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2005-2016-archive-garage-premium-shackle-flip-lift-kit.403630/ All kinds of info in there. Around page 18-20ish is where Eric (the OP and builder of the kit) changes the brackets to be Dakar friendly out of the box.

I didn't measure, I never do..., but the rear is visibly higher. Eric @ARCHIVE said to expect about 3/4" with the 45* positioning. Seems about right to me.

Damn - truck is looking very bad ass. When are you gonna put up the tire carrier? Did the rear bumper have cutouts for LED lights? I was impressed with @cynicalrider 's rear LED lights when he graciously turned them on for me when we arrived late night at theTakeover.

Thank you Lloyd. The tire carrier was sold a while back.

Light cutouts are an option. I actually ordered mine without them, but they were there when it arrived. I'm glad they were now though
