New to this forum and thought I'd post here before I explore the rest of the forum.

I use to have a 94 Toyota pickup that my dad left behind after he passed. I tried to restore it and bring it back to life. It served me very well for the short couple years I had it running. 2 crate motors later and a slew of failing parts, I sold it off. It was not easy to do, but I had no choice at the time.

4 years later 20210505_074448.jpg 20210402_150114.jpg I'm back in a truck, but this time a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 ExtraCab. Only for a couple months now, but I love this truck. Looking forward to posting in the 1st gen forum.

Looks are deceiving in the rust belt here in New England. Just completed a front suspension refresh. (UCA, LCA, struts, steering rack bushings)..

it was probably one of the most intensive jobs i have ever completed mainly due to the rust. I told myself that I would not spend more than 2 minutes with a rusty bolt before i took the sawzall out. That really helped the pace.

Took two weekends to complete as I tried to clean up as much rust and used rust reformer where i could.

This weekend I plan to upgrade the rears to the OME CS046R leafs. The rear does not look nearly as rusted so it should be less of a pain.

I know how that goes. I got compliments on the cleanliness of my 2008 GMC before I traded it in last year. Underneath and the tailgate showed a much different picture.

In Michigan, usually trucks of that age are already showing quite a bit of body rust.

    Welcome!

You're first gen is awesome! I've been wanting to restore an older Toyota Pickup but they're just way out of my price range and I don't have time or the space to do it at the moment.

I had a 94 Yota I bought brand new. 2.4 22RE and I really miss that truck. Totaled it on a dirt road going huntin. Cut the inside corner on a blind curve and a brand new GMC Dually was coming the other direction. My little truck totaled that GMC as well. Bad day...
