Could be faulty headlight switch, or bad headlight switch connector (rusted, burned or bent contacts) or DRL relay itself. Of course it vould be wiring problem, but unless it was modified, improoer fixed ir cheeed up by rodents it is very unlikely.

How does the Tacoma headlight connector work?
    There are 3 wires,

I’m having problems with my retro fit headlights coming off the drivers side power source.

The after market wiring harness relay bulbs and everything are work find,

But when connected to the Tacoma’s headlight power plug only the drivers side works
and sometimes the passenger side works on high beam and then goes out.

    All fuses are good,

Would this be a headlight relay issue?

The retrofit system has been working for 3 years with no problems till now,
I replaced the refit wiring harness and relay and still I have this problem,
So it the Tacoma side that the problem is at I think

@1997tacomav6 According to your sig you have a 97 so your wiring is gona be different from the posted diagram, that said the connector should have a ground, a low beam power, and a high beam power. I attached the 97 diagrams, there's 2 different wiring setups depending if you have daytime running lights or not.

I’m having the same problem on my 04 Tacoma. No low or high beams when switch is turned on. DRL’s are functioning properly, and headlights work in the flash position. Fuses and relays checked good. I have 12 volts at body ecu connector green/yellow wire but 0 volts at the red/green wire and 0 volts at pin 13 of the switch. I’m thinking it may be a problem within the body ecu. Is there any way to test it to be sure? Any help would be appreciated

Update: Problem resolved. I ended up replacing the Body ECU (fuse/junction-block assembly).
