Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to join your Forum!

I am a gal born in NY, raised in PR and living with my fiance in WA state. A few months ago he bought a Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2003 and now is facing some problems with it. Unfortunately no warranty, but he is having a heck of a time with what seems to be electrical problems with the lighting. Apparently, he's been having this glitch going on and now, as he is nearing his last day of vacation, is having a hard time trying to fix himself. It was suggested he check the fuse box and dashboard lighting, which he will eventually do. However, lights are flickering and he's afraid to drive it anywhere and causing a fire! Has anyone encountered this problem with the same year/model of truck? Looks like the wiring that was done previously is not even stock. He thought he had to replace the headlamps or bulbs, but still, the problem persists the flickering! If and when I get a chance I'll get more details and post some more tomorrow or so, right now, heading to bed as I have to work tomorrow =(

I hope everyone had a great start to the New Year 2018, and I look forward to any input or advice I can relay to the man of the house ;-)

Try checking the grounds for the lighting circuit. Make sure they are clean and well grounded. Especially since you mentioned it looks like the wiring is aftermarket.

Hi there, and yes he is from Vancouver. Actually grew up in Washougal and went to school there, but lived all his life in "Tha Couve" as they say around here, LOL!

    Welcome fellow Washingtonian!

When you say the wiring doesn’t look stock, what do you mean? Can you post a picture of the wiring in question?

Hi guys! Yeah, he is pretty beat about it, especially something he is financing and on top of that has to pay to have it fixed here and there! He ended up calling his buddy who works on cars and has his own home business and certification master mechanic (I think!), and took it up there today by the time I got home! We'll see what he finds out and I will let you all know =)
