Welcome to TW! Have you tried moving forward a bit after putting into 4hi? Sometimes that can kick it in.

Welcome aboard! Whenever i first bought my truck, i had a hard time getting the 4wd hi and lo to engage. Ive noticed its easier to get 4hi to engage while moving. From what ive read, the gears mesh better while moving vs sitting at a stop. Once you get 4hi to engage, id come to a complete stop put it in neutral and then try to get 4lo to engage. The first time is always the hardest after not engaging or using it for a long time. Ive started using mine at least 10 miles every month and its very easy to get it into 4lo now.

Had it checked out yesterday at the Dealer. Ended up being the Fr Diff actuator was pooched, not cheap, they volunteer to pay half because I just bought the vehicle back in May, I hadn't even used the four wheel drive yet'. Like they say use it or loose it,...will exercise the system once a month from now on !
