i just bought a 2015 super white crew cab short trd off road. I want to do some mod and was wondering why trd didn't make a intake for the 2015? Living in California we have carb and can't find any legal intakes. I know everyone say cai is a waste of money but I am kinda a label whore, so I want to keep everything Trd.

The intake on the tacoma is already considered a cold air intake.

They also didn't make a pro model in the 15, which would have had a fancy top cover only. Only thing I know is the AFE cia for the tacoma, but is not really recommended.
    Oh and welcome to TW

TRD's cold air intake (CAI) doesn't fit the 2012-2015 1GR-FE 4.0 V6 Tacomas because those year trucks added the secondary air injection (SAI) pump and plumbing. That additional "feature" is in the way of where the TRD CAI airbox would sit. AFE and Volant's CAI re-locate the pump with a bracket, but TRD's does not. If you fabb'd a bracket to relocate the pump, I think you could make the TRD CAI fit and I'm thinking of doing so (before I find a way to eliminate the SAI mechanism altogether).

    Welcome!

If you with a CAI without the CARB sticker, you can always just throw you stock intake on for the smog test.

Welcome to the group. Man it is you truck, do what you like. Some might give you some grief over what you do to your truck, but pay them no mind.
