Why would you lift it? The point of a lift is to fit bigger tires, thus gaining ground clearance. You already clear those tires fine, you would just be wasting money in my opinion

Listen up NOOBY, homey, buddy ol pal:
    First, Welcome Aboard!!!
You are in the right place for discussin' things about your Tacoma.
Second, I'll tell you what nobody told me: Once you modify or lift your suspension It will not be the same truck you drove off the lot. For better or worse it will be modified. Be prepared to accept that (like a man without whining and cryin over the keys whilst you type messages on the forum).
    search this forum for:
    "Alignment problems after lift"
    "shudder/vibration after lift"
    "problems after lift"
    "add ucas or no ucas??"
Also be sure to see Toku58's sticky post on "things you need to know about lifting your truck"
Just so you have it in your mind that things could go wrong if you go half assed or even go full assed.
Now, Despite those posts and that fact that the venerable Vile Monkey had an Evil Monkey in his truck he chose to install a Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit and it pleased him and the monkey. I also chose to install the Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit, although the only animal in my truck is a mild mannered Irish Terrier in the back on the weekends. I ended up with a shudder in my driveline while accelerating between 5-10 mph but I was de-escalated and told to put my tissues away by the kind folks on this forum.
I tried to remedy it but no luck. I live with it. I'm not gonna click any panzy-ass ruby slippers together three times and go back. I'm very happy with my modified supension and recently finished off the project with wheels and tires.
If you go to Toytec.com you wil see that the kit also comes with a rear add-a-leaf spring and various litlle goodies to make the finished product tidy.
Why Coilovers in stead of spacers??
-Cause most everyone I know personally that has spacers on their trucks say it rides like shit. -Cause a very knowledgeable fellow who goes by the handle of OakleyTRD Put me on his TacomaWorld knee when I was just a noob and said: "Do what you want to your truck but most importantly do what you want the first time".
-Cause all the contacts I made on the boards with folks who had the 5100 coliovers said it was a good ride. After much research,I knew that I really wanted the ULK by Toytec. I also added upper control arms from Allpro to be sure I would not have alignment problems.
I would not be satisfied with coliovers and the ULK would be keepin it real for my purposes.

What the hell do your friends know?? What the hell do you know?
What the hell do I know? Whose "what the hell" matters the most?
    YOURS, my friend.
Stick around, search and pummel this board with questions and you will know a hell of lot more. Like say, Do you really need a lift for those tires?? We're all here to help.........and shamelessly brag....and encourage consumer spending on offroad products..and to infect new members with MODigenic Cepahlopathy

And just my own little opinion: Blocks are "Third world, warlord-operated- roadblock, tire burning" GHETTO!
Enhance your truck!! Dont turn it into a piece of shit trying to make it look cool. Cause thats not cool.

Here is a question as I'm new to lifted trucks.
I have been reading about suspensions as I plan a lift in the future.

If you use the 5100s, set at 2.5, does the affect the CV angles. Do you need a diff drop for that? Or is that for 3" and above?

I have my 5100s set at 2.5 and I make use of a differential drop.
they are very simple addons. Go to the Toytec site and see what they are.
