Hey there. I was wondering what tires you guys recommend. I just bought a used 2017 TRD sport. The truck is my weekend warrior off-road toy. I have another car to daily to and from work. Everything on it is stock so far. Just tires has a deal for 150 off 4 tires on the Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar.

I'm going to lift this truck once the original shocks blow out, but in the mean time I wonder if I could get a higher profile by buying some beefier tires. Sorry if this is a really stupid question. I'm a complete newb so please excuse my ignorance.

Gonna be a while before the shocks blow unless you are jumping the truck.

How many miles on the truck?

How many miles? Shocks may already be toasty.......... But a lift isn't a have to unless you're hanging approach/departure when off road.

    255 80 17 or 255 85 16 on OE wheels will get you 33" with no lift/rub/cut.

Like 60 bizillion threads on tire brands, sizes and performance around here. For every choice on the market there are at least 3 folks that will say 'the best'. But they are all lying.

I don't know your definition of weekend warrior-ing. That will matter some in your selection.

Xway running, 200k is easy to do.

Those tires aren't going to be worth it for $150 off.

You can fit 265/75/16's or 255/85/16's on stock Suspension.

Falken Wildpeaks in the 265/75 size are affordable and pretty popular. I have had them on for 30k miles and they are great in the winter snow/ice.

Tire calculator might help, working with the numbers we've given you as starting points.

    265/70 or 255/80

if you run a search on here for those sizes you will find a ton of posts with pics and tire recommendations.

255 is the 33” skinny tire that fits but very limited in tires that offer that size, and more costly.

don’t forget to update your spare if you go with a larger tire.

damn, you just saved me a lot of headache. I didn't even think about the spare. and I intend to do a lot of off roading. this would have been critical. Thank you sir.
