Hi, kind of a newbie, want to know about changing rims on a 2009 Taco 2wd prerunner from 16" to 18"

Have stock ugly rims on it now but want to make it look nicer. My question is this, is going from 16"rims to 18" rims going to affect low end torque and acceleration on my 2009 Taco, or should I just shop around for nice looking 16" rims instead of going bigger. Been researching and see a lot of nice ones out there online. If I stay with 16s I don't need new tires, if I can go larger I will need rims and tires. Thanks for any responses out there.

as long as the outside diameter of the tires are the same there will be no change in torque and acceleration, BUT, it will ride a little rougher (less sidewall to cushion bumps).
so for example, if your current tires are 265/70r16, running 265/60r18 (same outside diameter, smaller sidewall to fit the bigger rim) will drive basically identical
