You don't have to have steel bumpers and sliders, it can be used as a hand winch

Touché. Ha ha. That would be a whole lotta trouble though. OP, get a section of a 2x10 to put under your bottle jack if you had to use it on soft ground, and a block of a 6x6 to use as a jack extension. It should serve you well.

lol. I love seeing brand new stock jeeps with a hi lift on the hood. No jacking points, and hose jacks are heavy. Try taking that jack on and off the hood without scratching something. Those jacks are not light. Mine has already paid for itself a couple times but I need a 60" now.

Stock bumpers no, but you can lift the rear by the receiver hitch. Can't you?

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Do you have a short or long bed?

If you don't mind the thing tipping over, sure!

Not a good idea to expect it to be balanced left to right.

    I've done that...on purpose too!
It seems that when I've been stuck I only needed to move maybe 6" so I jacked the up the rear and pushed it over a few inches. And I've used the Hi-Lift as a winch also. You do that once and you promise yourself a winch.

Sure as shit is. I had it up there for a while but I took it down and mounted it into my rear bumper. I didn't take it down because of the noise though. I took it down because rust stains were forming on the doors coming from the jack itself.

The neoprene case didn't help with noise?

No, not really. The noise comes from the hi lift base hitting the bolts that are on the front runner mount.
