Instead of a switch, can they be wired to the hi-beams?

high beams on = 100w lights on
high beams off = 100w lights off

    hey guys
i just posted a mod for the low beam always on the the CHEAP TACOMA MOD section

i works great but i have aftermarket lights which i strongly suggest if you are gonna do this mod. upgrading the ground wire to each light would also be the safe route. i can post how it is going in a few months. it is really simple, quick and free

peleus21- So you think in bone stock condition, if we mod to have the HI & LO's on at the same time it might run into temp and wire issues?

not necessarily.just a safety precaution. it is the bulb temperature and housing temperature i would be worried about. if you are prepared to spend the money to get aftermarket housings in case of melting or bulb blowouts, then do it to stock and see then everyone else will now for sure too.

I hear ya... But rather than gamble the cost of a new head light housing and bulb, I rather just upgrade to HID and know it will work ya know. B/C HID's have come way down in price in the past few years.

not much difference on a HID kit or the headlights. cheap hid run around 200 and the headlights i have were 224 without the hid upgrade.

    whichever you decide

i will post the amps and all safety additions on my low beam mod in the cheap tacoma mads

i am surprised no one figured it out before me. it was so simple i almost missed it

if you wanted to try it to see if you want to do it you could just use a jumper wire instead of soldering or pulling the fuse box apart

You can run aftermarket driving or fog lights however you want. You can wire them independantly of your truck lights if you want. It's all in how you wire them up.

I used to have a britebox-7 on my F-350 before I lost it to Ike. I loved unit. Your low beams and fog light will operate normally. The only difference now is with your high beams on, the brite box will keep the low beam element and fog lights on as well. I never had any over heating problems or excessive amp draw on the original circuitry, but that britebox does run through it's own fuse just in case. Unless you are constantly blinding people with your bright lights, I don't see any problems with the law.
