    Hello,
New member, proud owner of 1995 Tacoma LX (140k and going strong thank you very much), looking for new/used daily truck for commuting and work. Most immediate need is for 4-door/rear seat to put a carseat. Not riding safely right now! Absolutely no plans for off-roading, just the occasional tow.

As I'm sure everyone knows, car research can be daunting. There are so many websites, forums, conflicting advice, etc. Whenever I do serious consumer research I make my own spreadsheets for comparison. One thing I haven't had luck finding yet is a succinct summary of the differences for model changes over the years. I'm limiting my search for used trucks to ~2009-15 primarily because of mileage and would love to find a list that details major features and difference between each model year.

I'm also looking for a 'glossary of terms' of different features. Not being a car guy, it's hard to figure out what exactly to look for- what are essential features (safety, etc), what's for convenience, comfort, show, etc. I can figure out the difference between trim packages, stereos, etc but have no idea about things that actually affect driving and the ride. I'm sure the answer is just 'do more research', but if anyone knows about compiled lists for comparison, that would be really helpful.

    Thanks and pardon the ignorance.
