Your first point - How so?

Your second point - Yes, this does happen. But has nothing to do with the test scores.

I got kicked out of high school TWO DAYS before graduation over my involvement in a stunt we pulled......(Locked doors at both ends of the cafeteria during freshman lunch period and tossed in a friends pet skunk. We thought it was funny....;) Two weeks later, I got called in and was given my diploma and counted as all good. (I was 4th in a class of 345) I learned a valuable lesson....(ie, don't get caught next time)

Long story short, I would have killed either one of my kids if they didn't finish high school and go on to college. Diplomas don't buy you anything....But they DO open doors. 40 years ago, when I was graduating high school, lacking a diploma wasn't a great thing, but it wouldn't spell the end of opportunities. Today is different. Maybe 1 in 100,000 can get by without a diploma. The rest just stumble through life without ever knowing what they're missing out on.

I learned a few more things, but that's the first thing a career smart ass can think of....;)

Oh yeah....My college dreams were gonna be put on hold had I not been given that diploma.

We put a cow on the top floor of my school. Three flights, lol. And cows will flat-out refuse to go down a flight of stairs, let alone 6 of them. Our assistant principal had to ride down the handicapped elevator with it to get it out.

Oh, and to keep on topic, I graduated :notsure:

Me too. But that's a different thread. You were speaking of HS, not college. Whole 'nuther ball game.

I hope your work has provided you sufficient income to be living on your own, paying your own way for everything, and not mooching off your family or the government.

If it has, keep it up. If it hasn't, when do you think you'll be weaned?

I didn't drop out, got kicked out a few times though. Last time they kicked me out was 9th grade. Banned me from returning to public school in the entire state of Texas that time. :notsure:

I just thought you married well. But you also did not answer the "weaned" question yet, when?
