ok, so one of my bulbs went out on my truck and I want to replace them. I'm runnin 55 watt ballast with 35 watt bulbs. Is this smart cause I have heard that all bulbs are the same untill you get to 75 and 100 watt any input would be great thanks

trs sells 55 watt specific bulbs that do not color shift i run them in my 55 watt set-up and they are excellent.

the differences are apparent once your have both of them in your hands. for instance the morimoto will have thicker glass and return wire as well as thicker electrodes to handle the added power.

    hope this helps.

ya tottally are the colors different? I like the 8k look, do the 8k's look like 8k or 6k. cause I have 35watt bulbs with the 55 watt ballast and they look white. Almost like 5k

4300k or 5k thats all i would put in my projectors.

they make the most light anything higher than that minus some of the very rare oem osrams and such that are rated at 5100k and your eyes will not pick up the light so they will appear to be dimmer.

if your wanting a nice bright bulb to run in your projectors go for the morimoto or one of the oem phillips bulbs from trs in 4300k or 5k.

i must also point out that if your running the ebay projectors 55 watts may be a little hot for them although i'm not exactly sure how they are constructed. meaning the projectors themselves that are in your housings.

i doubt that they are a sealed all metal unit which is needed for long term durability and to guard against the hotter bulbs. the fx-r and many oem xenon projectors are made this way but i'm not sure about the ones you currently have. overtime this may lead to problems and if you continue to run the hotter bulbs and ballast i would keep an eye on them.
